25.01.2022 Good morning fellow golfers. An inspection of the Course this morning has revealed copious amounts of water still lying on the fairways, a river flowing from the dam through the seventh and sixth fairways and generally very wet and soft underfoot. After consultation with the Ladies' President and Captain, the Course will remain closed today, Wednesday 29 July 2020. The Ladies competition is cancelled for today. Sorry ladies. Hopefully the expected drier weather will re...nder the Course playable soon. See you on the tee soon Nicholson Innes President
24.01.2022 I have received the sad news that Mrs Gwen Ware has passed away. Gwen has been ill for some time and lost life’s battle on Wednesday. Gwen and Keith have been stalwarts of the Heyfield Golf Club for many years. On behalf of Heyfield Golf Club I would like to express our deepest sympathies to Keith and his family at this sorry time. 23.01.2022 Good morning fellow golfers. After an inspection of the Course this morning, I have opened it for golfers participation. Whilst the ground is soft in places, the majority of casual water areas have dissipated. I would ask that golfers in carts drive at the extremities of the fairways in order to save the fairways grass. See you on the tee.... Nicholson Innes President

21.01.2022 I hope all members are having a safe Easter. As we obey our "masters" in staying at home, one has to wonder about these rules that appear to apply to some but not to others. To this date , Golf Australia has not changed its recommendation in regards to Course Closures. Unless I hear otherwise, one can assume that the closures will go past the initial date of 13 April, 2020. I would hope that the State Government might have a change of heart some day soon and reopen Golf Cours...es for local competitors. One can only hope. On a much brighter note, a little birdie, (the flying type), told me that a couple of the Club's stalwarts are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary today. Congratulations to Pauline and Ron Rose. Best wishes from us all and well done! To all my fellow members, keep well, keep safe, take care of yourselves and we"ll soon be back on the tee! Kind Regards Nicholson Innes President
21.01.2022 Good Afternoon fellow golfers. The greens will be watered sometime between 0700 and 1200 tomorrow Thusday 10 September. I would recommend a tee off time of 1215-1230 for members participating in a round of golf. See you on the tee.... Nicholson Innes President
20.01.2022 Good Evening fellow golfers, In blustery conditions today, twelve brave souls played in the Chicken Run. 20.01.2022 Good evening fellow golfers. Our esteemed Captain has organised September's Monthly medal, (stroke), and the second round of the Seniors Championship (stableford) to be played on Saturday 26 September, 2020. Lets give these events maximum support. Captain John has also indicated that the present printed Event programme should only be used as a general guide. We want to complete as many of the 2020 Competitions and Championships as possible so watch out for up to date notices. See you on the tee. Nicholson Innes President
18.01.2022 THE HEYFIELD GOLF CLUB The Heyfield Golf Club would like to thank the Wellington Shire Council’s Quick Response Grant Scheme in granting us $2000. This was for our essential equipment repairs project on the fairway mower. A special thank you to Sharon Macgowan Community Facilities Planning & Grants Officer for her help and a very big thank you to Brenton Dinsdale Program Co-ordinator at Gippsport. The club also received a $1000 grant from Sport and Recreation Victoria, Commun...ity sport sector short term survival package. This grant is to help clubs get through the covid-19 pandemic. These grants have come at a time when the club has needed it most. A small group of volunteers work hard to keep the Course looking good so every dollar counts. With covid-19 and all its restrictions the club was not able to have their annual tournament and other sponsor days. This has had a major impact on the club financially. But we are still able to play golf so please come and have a game, pleasant company, beautiful surroundings, become a member and join a great group of people. I would also like to congratulate Karen Coleman for her efforts in obtaining these grants. Well done. See you on the tee Nicholson Innes President See more
15.01.2022 Good Afternoon fellow golfers, Due to ongoing problems in the watering system, tomorrow's scheduled coring of the greens, will not go ahead. It means therefore, the a Chicken Run competition can go ahead. I have consulted with the "Grand Oracle", Ken Flint , and he has given his blessing on a single day competition, should there be the required number of competitors. I am proposing that, due to the forecast of 32 degrees tomorrow afternoon, competitors meet at 0900 hours f...or 0930 hours tee off. See you on the tee! Nicholson Innes President See more
13.01.2022 Good morning fellow golfers, I have just been informed by Golf Australia that carts can now be two up, not just from the same household. The proviso is that the cart is deep cleaned after every use. See you on the tee.... Nicholson Innes President
12.01.2022 HEYFIELD GOLF CLUB CLUBHOUSE,AND COURSE CLOSED UNTIL 13 APRIL, 2020 As I indicated just a few days ago the situation regarding all games of golf can change at any given point should either the Federal or State Government implement further restrictions. Today a recommendation from Golf Australia states... "27/3 - It is GA’s recommendation that, based on the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services directive issued as part of the Victorian Government’s Stage 2 restrictions regarding COVID-19, all golf clubs and facilities should close as soon as practicable until April 13, 2020." Accordingly, based on this recommendation, the Heyfield Golf Clubhouse and the Heyfield Golf Course is closed from now until at least 13 April, 2020 All club competitions and events are postponed until further notice. I am sorry, folks, but we must go along with the Government's restrictions. Stay safe, keep fit and well and hopefully we may be able to be on the Course after this date. Nicholson Innes President, Heyfield Golf Club
12.01.2022 I have some good news for all Heyfield Golfers. Based on the recommendations of Golf Australia, the Course will be open on Wednesday 13 May, 2020. Competition Golf can recommence with groups of up to four (4) persons. The Clubhouse is, however, closed for food or beverages until probably the beginning of June.2020 depending on the continued decrease of the Covid-19 cases. Please respect this decision and that the playing of golf will be conditional on everyone taking prec...autions of social distancing and other preventative measures previously published. If there is anyone unsure of the protocols on the Course please feel free to contact me for an explanation. With the recommencement of Golf, the Ladies will begin the competitions with the Ladies' Day on Wednesday and the Chicken Run will be on Thursday at 1200 for 1230. Friday and Saturday's competitions will be as per the printed program. See you on the tee. Nicholson Innes President you on the tee. Nicholson Innes President
10.01.2022 Good Morning fellow golfers. Unfortunately the Clubhouse is closed today due to a power blackout. There are some electrical works being done near Old Joes Road. Normal service should be available tomorrow. See you on the tee Nicholson Innes President
09.01.2022 I hope all members have had a safe and happy Easter break. At this time and date , Golf Australia has not updated its recommendation in regards to Course Closures. However the State Government has extended the State of Emergency provisions until 11 May, 2020, with a proviso to extend the date again. Unless I hear otherwise, one can assume that the closure of all golf courses in Victoria is still the norm until at least 11 May, 2020. To all my fellow members, keep w...ell, keep safe, take care of yourselves and hopefully we"ll soon be back on the tee! Kind Regards Nicholson Innes President
08.01.2022 Good Evening fellow golfers, First, I hope all the Dads had a great day today, taking into consideration Covid 19 restrictions. I am sure lots of love and appreciation were shown by all your family. Second, it would appear that the Club ,may be able to commence competitions with effect from Monday 14 September, 2020. I am awaiting confirmation from Golf Australia and will alert members when this information is at hand. Here's hoping. Third, the Club is really appreciative ...of the donations given by the Members who normally play in the Chicken Run and other competitions. Every donation received helps to see the Club remain viable through this pandemic. Finally a challenge to my fellow members. As a reality check as to whether or not you can play to your authorised handicap, I am suggesting that the Tuesday players plays the front nine holes from the Members' tees followed by playing the back nine from the Members' tees, on Thursday. By using your full handicap, on each day, a member can assess as to whether or not their handicap is a valid statement as to where their golf game is at.. With the Second Round of the Seniors' Championship and the Masters probably being played quite soon, a check on your "game form" might be in order. Myself and Billy Moir will be playing this format so come on you other "stalwarts", let's find out how good we really are!!! One white card should be used for these two days. See you on the tee. Nicholson Innes, President See more
07.01.2022 Good morning fellow golfers, The good news is that competitions can now recommence with a maximum of 4 per group. Social distancing and a mask are still essential requirements and golf carts are single occupancy only unless you are living in the same household as the other person. Club rooms will be open under the restrictions of groups of ten per space. Club Competitions will begin on Friday 18 September 2020.... See you on the tee. Nicholson Innes President

The program for remainder of this week is: Thursday 12 November, 2020 - Chicken Run Friday 13 November, 2020 - Open event (Stableford) Saturday 14 November, 2020 - 1st Round Club Championships... Course will be closed for these works. Friday competition - To be confirmed Saturday event - to be confirmed. As you may be aware we have been a bit light on workers to maintain the Course. Whilst we adjust to the loss of to hard working stalwarts, I would like to commend Murray Moore and Ken Stribley for "stepping up to the mark" and helping to get the Course in order. My special thanks go to Alan MacDonald for his endless hard work in getting the fairways "up to scratch" and coordinating with Murray, Ken and others to ensure the ladies and the men could play golf in fairly good conditions. My thanks also go out to Jimmy Winter for his effort on cutting of tees prior to the Ladies Club Championship. The ladies appreciated the effort as did I. See you on the tee. 05.01.2022 Good Evening, As Stage Three of restrictions apply as from 2359 hours tonight. Golf Australia has reiterated its recommendation that all golf courses should be closed. This has caused deep division and controversy amongst Victoria Clubs as well as Victorian golfers. I think that Golf Australia is correct in its recommendation and the sooner all the people in Victoria adhere to Stage Three restrictions, the sooner we may get back to normality. It has been reported that, in NSW..., three golfers and two golf clubs have been issued fines by the police for failing to obey restrictions. I believe the fines were in the region of $1600 for the players and $10,000.00 for the golf clubs involved! It won't be long before the VicPol begin their patrols. It would appear, however that some of our members and Green Fee players can't see the "COURSE CLOSED" sign nor the numerous signs up on the Clubhouse indicating that the Clubhouse and Course are closed. Tonight a chain has been erected across the main entrance, (there are white containers attached to it), to deter people disobeying the restrictions. PLEASE OBEY THE STAGE THREE RESTRICTIONS. STAY CLEAR OF THE COURSE. Please take care and stay safe. Kind Regards Nicholson Innes President
05.01.2022 Good evening fellow golfers. Acting on advice from Golf Australia, the following COVID 19 update will take effect from 2359 hours Wednesday 5 August 2020: 1. All competitions are suspended until further notice.... 2. All members and Green Fee plays are entitled to play social golf but groups are now limited to two players. Only play in pairs. 3. All players must wear a face covering or face mask at all times when within the grounds of Heyfield Golf Club, including: from the car park to the registration area. whilst in the registration area. whilst playing, returning to the car park Failure to wear a mask may result in Club imposed sanctions including having playing rights revoked for a period of time. 4. The Clubhouse is closed. Please play your game and then return home. 5. Private carts may only carry one player (unless the two persons live at the same abode) Once again- failure to abide to these conditions can lead to sanctions. The Committee does not wish to be put into a situation whereby it is required to reprimand a player. Whether you agree with the above conditions or not, it is the Committee’s responsibility to provide duty of care for ALL members. Please abide by these rules. This predicament is uncomfortable for all! These steps, hopefully, are only for the next six weeks and provided the confirmed coronavirus cases are declining, we may get back to some sort of normality. Take care of yourselves and hopefully I'll see you on the tee shortly. Stay safe Nicholson Innes President
04.01.2022 Good Afternoon fellow golfers, Because of the inclement weather and volume of water lying on the fairways and greens, the Course was closed from 1300 today. An assessment of conditions will be made on a daily basis and a decision taken as to whether or not golf can be played safely and with minimal affect on the Course. Sorry folks. The Course will reopen whenever practical.... Nicholson Innes President
03.01.2022 Good morning fellow golfers, Sad news. The Club’s bar facilities will not be reopening from June 1. Advice from Golf Australia is that the easing of restrictions from this date, only applies to venues that engage in sit down meals. Liquor can be served then. At present, bar only facilities are still prohibited. Unfortunately, purchasing a pie does not qualify as a sit down meal. Hopefully restrictions will be eased further in the very near future.
