25.01.2022 Looking forward to representing Victoria at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards and showcasing Cobden and the Great Ocean Road region on the national stage.

So much land diversity from the coast to the hinterland to see when visiting. #iamvolcanticlakesandplains #volcaniclakesandplains #iam12apostles #12apostlescoastandhinterland #visitgreatoceanroad #seeaustralia #visitvictoria #comeletusspoilyou #heytesburyhouse #iamcobden

22.01.2022 Some of the greatest natural wonders of this world are the people that inspire, create and contribute to our lives from the smallest of ways, to the grandest of achievements. Were celebrating some of those that help us to provide our guests and community the best experience possible - like Chelsea Hatherall from Second Nature who arrived in Cobden back in 2017, bringing with her an extensive experience within the arts industry. Please read and explore more here...

22.01.2022 The Flanders poppy, grew profusely in the trenches and craters of war zones of Belgium due to exposed seeds by artillery shells and shrapnel in stirred up earth.... The poppy became the symbol of the war dead. It was seen as representing the souls of those who died between 1914 and 1918, transformed into a million blood-red flowers. In Australia, wreaths of poppies are placed at memorials and honour boards on ANZAC Day. Traditionally, worn single poppies belong to Remembrance Day. The Poppies with Purpose initiative is part of Cobdens Heytesbury Haven project which provides respite for returned veterans who live with the pain, stress and anxiety of Australias conflicts and their roles in them. Please follow the link for contact details if you wish to get involved. https://www.heytesburyhouse.com.au/heytesbury-haven-help-v/ https://www.heytesburyhouse.com.au/join-the-poppies-with-p/ Lest we forget. #anzac #flanders #poppies

21.01.2022 What a beautiful morning..... You never know what to expect when visiting the 12 Apostles.

20.01.2022 The many layers of history that are uncovered when you renovate. Floorboards, cardboard underlay, vinyl (or linoleum), floorboards, and then another vinyl. What a story they could tell.

20.01.2022 Feeling very humbled to receive Silver at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. Thank you all for your support.

20.01.2022 In this weeks Cobden Timboon Coast Times

19.01.2022 Who knew back in 1949 that we would be living in lock down over 70 years later. Not being able to catch up with family and friends or to be able to go for a drives or weekends away. As we are nearing the lifting of some of the restrictions, we all are itching to get out and about, visit family and friends, go for a drive, weekends away, going out for dinner and so much more. We are looking forward to having people come and stay with us, to explore what our beautiful region ha...s to offer. In the meantime enjoy a bit of nostalgia of the Great Ocean Road from the ACMI collection. #endofthetunnel #weekenddrive #weekendgetaway

18.01.2022 There was excitement yesterday with a visit from a Koala, the 3rd one in 4 years. The Koala came out the garden, walked along the driveway before climbing one of the Oak Trees. You just never know what you will see when you walk through our gates.

17.01.2022 Please help save one of the iconic attractions along the Great Ocean Road.

15.01.2022 Old wallpaper found while removing wallpaper from the small hallway that goes from our kitchen to the dining room.. I think that it might be the original wallpaper as we have found some of it in the front hallway when I renovated it a few years ago.

09.01.2022 A wonderfully researched record of the much loved Dr Alfred H Barrett. We are in awe of the memories that have been created in this place we call home.

07.01.2022 In recent months economies right across Victoria and Australia have endured two major events the devastating bushfires and coronavirus outbreak. You only have to talk to people reliant on the tourism industry along the coast and its clear that the Great Ocean Road has slowed down dramatically. The flow on of that is less people exploring the hinterland and supporting our local businesses. Well wed like to involve our wonderful community in initiatives to encourage visitat...ion to the region. And so, were embarking on a concerted effort to find ways where you can help not only us, but local eateries, producers and others relying on tourism. Please read more here...and share this for us #HolidayHereThisYear #stayinthebush #buyfromthebush

07.01.2022 Are you looking for a rewarding way to spend your time in isolation? Were calling on local yarn crafters to help knit or crochet woollen poppies for veterans. This Poppies with Purpose initiative is part of Cobdens Heytesbury Haven project which provides free holidays for returned veterans who live with the pain, stress and anxiety of Australias conflicts and their roles in them.... Please read more and reach out if you can help.
