19.01.2022 Tony Justice: "The Last of the Cowboys"

17.01.2022 SA/Vic Border UPDATE: SARTA is pleased to advise that we have achieved a far better outcome for SA HV drivers by working with the Dept of Health and SAPol over ...the past few days: The Official Cross Border Travel Order No 8 is about to be published and we understand from SAPol that: 1. SA based HV drivers will NOT have to self-isolate or quarantine when returning to SA; 2. VIC based HV drivers WILL have to self isolate in SA when not performing their Essential Traveller duties and use PPE when they are working; 3. Operators are encouraged to maximise use of Nhill Change Overs and minimise access to Melbourne. SARTA advised that COVID Safe practices must continue to be used at all times and we encourage drivers to take advantage of the COVID testing being provided by SAPathology. If cases of COVID19 transmission by SA HV drivers coming back from VIC emerge, we can expect a tightening up of the conditions. We will post the text of the new Order as soon as we have it. SARTA has no further information and wont not speculate on what may or may not be in the Order. We are as frustrated as drivers and operators will be about the fact that we still dont actually have the legal Order available but that is out of our hands. The new regime starts at midnight ...

11.01.2022 Commercial Transport and Freight Services workers are no longer required to have a COVID-19 test before entering South Australia. Due to our current Circuit Br...eaker in South Australia we are unable to accommodate testing for this category of Essential Traveller. However, all other restrictions are still in place and we would like to encourage anyone in this category to get tested in their home state before they enter South Australia. All existing directions, frequently asked questions and other information can be found here: https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/emergency-declarations If you require further information you can call the SA COVID-19 Information Line on 1800 253 787 between the hours of 9am to 5pm 7 days per week or go to the SA Health website at www.sahealth.sa.gov.au or www.sa.gov.au/covid-19

03.01.2022 John is one of our Safety and Compliance officers based in Victoria. We’ve asked John to share a few tips on common mistakes he and his team see out on the roa...ds each day, around work diaries. As we know, driver fatigue or drowsy driving is a safety hazard for the road transport industry. The work diary is evidence that a driver’s work and rest hours are compliant with the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and fatigue is being managed. This is why it is so important that it is filled out correctly. For more information on fatigue management, visit www.nhvr.gov.au/fatigue

01.01.2022 INQUIRY INTO CHINESE INFLUENCE Did you know that over 25% of Tasmania's agricultural land is foreign owned? We're sitting ducks here and we're letting the Communist Party in China undermine our democracy. Why is the Coalition and Labor scared of having an inquiry?
