25.01.2022 In case you Southerners think Morgan Park is a long way away and not worth the drive, I received the following email: Just arrived home after a 13 hours drive &... reflecting the weekend. I ask that if you could please pass my comments on to the HFFA members and race organizers.(I don't know how to do face book!!!) As you know I do go on about NZ historic racing / organization but I now know the same CAN be achieved is OZ!!!!!! This past weekend was superb, this is how I expect HFF to be. This is what I remember what motor SPORT was!!! (not motor business as it is today) camaraderie, fun, helping others, social, with close hard racing. (I'm not competitive, just don't like coming second LOL) NO RED FLAGS: NO MAJOR CRASHES ,NO SAFETY CARS (do they have one?? yellow flags ..yes) or INCIDENTS plenty of laps. Races on time; no reduces laps due to what ever??? & NO BS. I applaud the organizers and the HFFA committee, yourself, and all the competitors for a great race meeting This is one of the best events we have attended in a long time & a great FF track. We will be back;; and recommend to all HFF racers, that they do this one next year. Thanks for a fantastic weekend cheers to all Lyndon Arnel

It was New Zealands first racing car production line. 12 Valour Formula Fords were manufactured. Auto Research also produced 14 Formula Vees and 1 Formula Junior and ran the New Zealand Driving School. The chassis design and suspension design was designed by Trevor Larsen and based on the Titan Formula Ford. The body was built by Trevor Larsen and John Hyde (directors of Auto Research Ltd) with a distinctive hammerhead shark nose cone and radiators mounted at the sides of the car. The hammerhead nose was subsequently banned as it was considered to be a down force aid. The cars were available in three forms; in kit form costing $960 without engine, as a rolling chassis for $3300 or ready to race for $5200. This car was purchased as components from the factory by Ian Simcox in New Zealand. The car was later owned by John Hyde, one of the owners of Valour Cars. After disappearing for many years, in 1999 the car was found in a dilapidated state in a garden. A full restoration followed and was completed in December 2001. It was later shipped to Sydney.
