17.01.2022 It's been a while since I posted our picture for the 52 weeks of saving. Have you continued to play through Covid? If not, that's totally fine, saving even a little each week still adds up to a lot at the end of the year. If you have been playing you should be up to $300 now :)

15.01.2022 Two weeks in and our game is just getting started. These first few weeks should be easy going, but it's all for a greater purpose. It takes at least 7 weeks to form new habits so make sure you're getting these ones in as soon as you can. If you're up for sharing, post a photo of your savings place in the comments below

13.01.2022 Can you believe it's already week 28! Our game has only 24 weeks to go. How is your savings looking? Have you caught up if you were behind. We're up to $406 now and it's only going to get bigger more quickly from here on out. Have you got something nice planned for that Dec-24th finish date!

12.01.2022 Has your job been affected by Covid-19 and put you on the JobKeeper payment? If so, this $1500 a fortnight may be more than what you were previously earning. On September 27, JobKeeper will end and you'll most likely go back to work taking home your original wage. How will you adjust to this reduced income? 09.01.2022 It's the 1st of July and for most workers we know what that means... tax time! And for some, tax time also means another thing, a tax return. If you're going to use that extra income to pay down debt, you wouldn't be alone. It's an easy way to pay that pesky credit card off. Now there is nothing wrong with doing that, but why not at the same time put a Spending Plan in place. That way, next year when that tax return comes in you can put it towards something nice :)... 07.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Kate here I started my Christmas shopping last week. I’ve left it to the last minute again this year but something that makes this time of year a little simpler for me is that I have a Christmas budget worked into my Spending Plan. I allow a certain amount money to be saved in my plan to spend for Christmas. This means that I don’t have to lay-by, afterpay, or worse case dip into my savings or rely on a credit card. We at HFSP can coach you through setting up your spending plan and factoring in your own budgeting needs, you are in control of where your money goes every step of the way. What are your biggest roadblocks for Christmas spending this year, share with us in the comments?

06.01.2022 As another year begins we can start a new game of "52 Weeks of Savings". If you've played in the past you'll know what to do. If not, it's real easy :) Every week just put the scheduled amount into a safe place and forget about. If you keep doing this every week, then come the day before Christmas you would have saved $1,378!

Taking control of my families spending has freed up a lot of the mental load I was carrying, which many of us who run households know well. I am looking forward to bec...oming an accredited spending planner in 2021 and assisting local hunter families to spend smarter and save smarter.
