21.01.2022 Leah Parker is the Secretary of Launching Place Cricket Club. As part of the #16DaysOfActivism we’re celebrating clubs who are encouraging female participation in sport. "We wanted to provide a safe place for women and girls to enjoy playing cricket in the Yarra Valley. Other clubs need to embrace female participation across the board from the players to the committee. Sporting clubs have a great opportunity to challenge gender stereotypes, promote gender equality and pre...vent violence against women by promoting female participation at all levels." After training at the Royal Children’s Hospital, I worked in the Children’s ward at Frankston Hospital for over 24 years. The Practice Manager role is extremely varied and provides new challenges every day, even more so since COVID-19, but working as a team to predict and react to the needs of the community is incredibly exciting and rewarding.
