24.01.2022 Check out the pendants we frabricated and painted this week! The last sparky had them swinging in the breeze on the cable. We modified a rod for each light with a tapped thread in each end. Pretty happy with how they turned out! We also concreted and installed a number of garden lights

23.01.2022 How good do led downlights look?! 32 installed today along with a ceiling fan light .

22.01.2022 A busy Sunday down Kingston today! A new power point, 2 tv points installed, an in roof antenna, wall mounted the TV and panel heater and installed a dedicated RCD protected circuit back to the switchboard for the heater. Busy busy!

21.01.2022 I spent roughly 27 hours roughing in this weekend! Around 90 lights, 65 power points, numerous data, tv points and 18 circuits later ! We call it rough in but it's hardly rough, this is when all our planning and preparation goes into the job and the time and effort to make sure the rest of the job runs smoothly and the fit off is to great quality and ease. Looking forward to the fit off on this one

21.01.2022 This client had lost power to multiple circuits along with not being too far off a potential house fire! All the rules have changed in the last few years including circuit protection in the switchboard. Touch base today for a free quote to bring your switchboard up to scratch and ensure your family home is safe!

20.01.2022 Another switchboard upgrade today .

19.01.2022 I started today with a job in Sorell fault finding and resolving a light circuit tripping out at random times. Then out to Glenorchy this afternoon for a removal of an oven and a make safe for the clients to install a new kitchen.

16.01.2022 How good do led high bays look in a shed?! I couldn't recommend these lights more especially for workshops, warehouses and sheds. Contact Brad for a free quote on wiring up your shed/workshop

16.01.2022 Some very classy lights I had to pleasure of re installing today after the first sparky installed these incorrectly (the holes in the ceiling they are also responsibile for). Also another antenna and some extra points installed today too

16.01.2022 The before and after photos of a downlight install completed down Kingston today. We swapped over all the exisiting lights in the house to downlights and wired in another 10. Also on the agenda was to install 3 dimmers and a sensor.

16.01.2022 Spent the last two days working down Primrose Sands . It started as a relocation of a hot water cylinder, the old circuit was wired in lighting cable and the hot water had a dodgy smaller element in it to not trip the circuit out. I rewired the circuit back to the switchboard in the correct size cable and put a new element in.... I also installed a weatherproof power point next to hot water cylinder to cover a hole in the weatherboards. Upon lifting some sheets of roofing iron I found alot of nails rusted out or holes in some sheets so the client sourced some more roofing iron to fix his roof while I was at it I screwed it down and removed the nails. . I also installed a few other power points around the house, some downlights and a fan in the kitchen . Busy few days by the water!

15.01.2022 Tv antenna install today and 3 new TV points in this new home . A lot of builders have a basic quantity of lights and power points that are allowed for in the contract. Many don't allow for an antenna or even tv points. Most clients probably won't realise this until they move into their new home and could have done with more power points, lights, tv points, internet and phone points. Feel free to contact me if you require any additional points in your home .

15.01.2022 Lots of bits and pieces completed today in Salamanca. Not a bad spot for lunch either

13.01.2022 Switchboard upgrade completed today. In recent years the rules have changed so every circuit must be protected by an RCD. The main reason being an RCD will trip out in Milli seconds shall a fault or an incident occur. I have another upgrade to do early next week for this reason. My clients toddler is very inquisitive and they want to ensure their house and switchboard meets the current rules and regulations. ... If this is something you may be interested in or unsure of feel free to send Brad a photo. He will be able to advise you if you require an upgrade or not.

12.01.2022 These twin led sensor lights are great for security around the home. I installed some in Richmond and Sorell today. I also installed a hard wired smoke alarm with a battery back up! A must have for safety in the family home

10.01.2022 It has been a crazy week of discoveries! An elderly client has been trying to get an electrical contractor back for 9 months and she has been working in her garden around a live 240v cable! Trenches weren't to adequate depth either and the back shed was running off a plug with the cable and conduit just under the surface.... In another elderly client's house I had lights wired in fig 8 (speaker and extra low voltage cable) and the earthed chopped off the metal fittings. What a week so far! It's shame there is Electrical contractors out there completing work like this.

10.01.2022 Rough in not too far away on this one at Primrose Sands

09.01.2022 One thing that occured to me when starting my business is most people don't even know who they are calling or inviting into their home to complete their electrical work. Below is a dot point summary on my experience and achievements in the industry. I have also attached photos of the developments Ive been involved with and a photo of me with my new uniform. * Fire system and security installation and maintenance.... * Commercial construction on Barossa Park Lodge & Fairway Rise (nursing homes) * Domestic - service work, alterations, additions and fault finding. This included work as a licensed electrical contractor in Queensland. * New home and town house construction across Queensland (including hundreds of new homes for Dixon Homes) * Electrical supervisor of 72 town houses in gated communities. Supervising up to five employees at different stages. (Creekwood, Meridian plains, QLD). * Electrical supervisor of Kingston Health Center (Tasmania) supervising up to five employees at different stages. * Electrical leading hand at The Hedberg (Tasmania) supervising multiple sections/floors of this large commercial site and managing several employees at times. That's a breif run down of what I've acheived in my time in the Electrical industry. This is so you know not only who is behind the phone if you decide to call HIB Electrical, but also the level of experience I offer. I would really appreciate it if you could invite your friends & family to like my business page, as well as like and share this post. Thank you very much for your time.

09.01.2022 A beautifully renovated kitchen I had the pleasure of re connecting earlier in the week due to the original sparky not coming back to finish his work.

08.01.2022 Beautiful day to be on the roof in Lenah Valley today

07.01.2022 We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work in Adventure Bay on Bruny Island today. The location is beautiful and we are more than happy to travel longer distances and provide our services to those who need it. We installed two heat pumps and performed two switchboard upgrades in each caravan. ... No matter your location, type of dwelling (house, caravan, shed, shack) or timeframe required - we do our very best to meet your needs. Contact us today to get a quote or book in some work - we are filling up fast in the lead up to Christmas!

07.01.2022 I was completing a switchboard upgrade today and the mains box looked in average condition so I thought I'd take a look! I would have never have found this as I had no reason to have removed the cover at all I was there to upgrade the board and that's it. When I seen this I was immediately worried and notified the owner it needed to be rectified ASAP! ... I'm not going to get into the logistics of it and I will try and explain the situation in a simple manner. What you are looking at are two nearly completely broken conductors on the consumer mains active and neutral. Other than a fire risk and shorting out the main thing that had me worried is as follows. This will cause a high resistance in the neutral and if a broken neutral occurs it's even worse! Due to the earthing system we use in Australia this can cause a serious life threatening situation. Everything earthed will become live your oven etc. The main one the water pipes will become live and as we know water is conductive. This is how people are electrocted in the shower, at the sink or using their oven. Let alone if you live in a steel frame house then the walls will be live. I have attached a photo of the device every house should have plugged into a power point. However this device will only detect a full break (not the situation I discovered today). If you live in an old house with an overhead connection this is more likely. If you get tingling off taps or while having a shower make sure you get onto a sparky and make sure that green light is green regularly

07.01.2022 Another client loving the Led lights in his shed. I also use purl mates for all my power points and switches a bit more expensive but keeps everything looking tidy and presentable

04.01.2022 We have installed many variations of LED lighting options this week and what a difference they make!

02.01.2022 A busy couple of days! A sub board upgrade and a rewire of multiple things due to them being wired incorrectly and causing a fire risk! Then wiring and intsalling some of these stylish power points and then off to repair an oven that wasn't working (due to a burnt out internal connection).

01.01.2022 Been a busy week of renovation work in Sorell and Howrah. I sure am looking forward to seeing the transformation of these two jobs!
