19.01.2022 Now that the warm weather is here, we're all worried about our dogs mixing it with snakes ... but there's a more insidious threat: grass seeds!! Don't forget to mow/whipper-snip, and please check your dogs' coats regularly for intruders ...

17.01.2022 Hey folks, just to let you know: Yass Pet Containment Systems has just installed its 102nd system ... three of which are rather large (16 - 55 acres) and solar powered (see attached for the first one, which turns two years old in April)!
16.01.2022 First post for a while, I know ... and it's a personal one, both sad and happy (sorry). Drea and I lost our "old girl" Nala three weeks ago, basically of old age (she was 15 and 4 months). The first pic is one of the last pics we got of Nala, giving her Mum a kiss ... Dekka and Buran weren't a pack without Nala, so I looked around ... and found Tytan at Arctic Breed Rescue Inc at Mandalong, near Lake Macquarie (NSW). He's Buran's age (about 5 and a half), and his rescuers have worked really well with him: he's a great dog! We took Dekka and Buran up for a play date yesterday, and it all went swimmingly ... so as soon as we can work out the transport details, there'll be a pack again at YPCS! :)
15.01.2022 This solar-powered system for working Maremma (livestock guardian dogs) started out at 55 acres in 2015. It is now 75 acres, with a perimeter of approximately 5.6 km. To cover such a large area, we used a Dog Watch PT4EX transmitter ... plenty of room for the dogs - and goats - to roam!

10.01.2022 This is a bit of a hobby-horse of mine, so apologies in advance. But: please ensure that, if you get a new fur-baby, either go to a reputable rescue organisation, or a reputable breeder ... particularly one that gives YOU the third degree, and has a no questions asked return policy. Pet shops and Gumtree should be avoided completely. Completely.

09.01.2022 We are proud to announce that Yass Pet Containment Systems has just helped to keep 200 dogs safe at home. This pic is actually of two of our own dogs - high prey-drive Huskies - choosing to simply watch the alpacas and kangaroos, rather than chase them ... apart from this frustration, you couldn't hope to find happier, more stress-free dogs! :)
