23.01.2022 Must be the season of the.... carot flower! All the flowers of this plant family (Apiaceae) are showing off right now! The subtle elements of green tease us! Any floral designer will tell you how important greenery is. It can either make or break your design. ... Also considered the ultimate 'disk' filler plant and often what its cousins, the laceflowers are known for- carrot flowers are a wonderful edible alternative. Purple carrot flowers are a great alternative for chocolate lace flowers. This one pictured, is in bud but when open- you get a useful array of shades of green to white. A must for any designer's pallete! They will be on, all summer! You'll see them in the mixes this week. #apiaceae #edibleflowerscentralcoastnsw #edibleflowerssydney #edibleflowerfarmer #permacultureflowers #urbanflowerfarm #microflowerfarm #flowersforbiodiversity #cakedecorators #floraldesidgner #centralcoastcafes

17.01.2022 Leonardo da Vinci rose never disappoints! I moved this one recently and it loves its new space. Sometimes when plants are unhappy, maybe they just need a change of scene. #edibleroses #edibleflowerscentralcoastnsw ... #cakedecorators #permacultureflowers #urbanmicroflowerfarm #leonardodavincirose See more

17.01.2022 Nigella heaven! Bringing the element of air into any edible design. In bud, semi open, fully open or immature pod... such a versatile giver. Save the seeds of Nigella sativa for eating, as Black Cumin. Dried pods can be used in design work too but perhaps not for eating... #nigelladamascena ... #edibleflowersnsw #edibleflowerscentralcoastnsw #centralcoastnsw #edibleflowers #slowflowersaustralia #permacultureflowers #urbanflowerfarm #microflowerfarm #cakedecorators See more

13.01.2022 Rainy day harvest! Over 150mm of rain here and most the flowers have taken a beating. Not these fragrant petals... think guava, pineapple and rose flavours all blended into one. 09.01.2022 Eat 'em, sow 'em, grow 'em. Spring tucker fruits are at their best on the coast and a great time to collect seed. My seed collecting team and I were doing just that today! This year is a particularly good one, yielding high numbers across multiple sites. ... So good! #leucopogonparviflorus #nativefruits #centralcoastnsw #bushtucker #coastalrestoration

07.01.2022 The peony poppies are done but now it's time for the Iceland Poppy to shine! Do you wait in anticipation, for the very first flower on a plant, in your garden? I do! Patiently hoping, knowing, any day... it's beauty will unfold. ... Growing flowers is a love affair that makes my heart sing! These aren't edible but they're very special nonetheless! #slowflowersaustralia #permacultureflowers #urbanflowerfarm #microflowerfarm #centralcoastnsw #caringfornature #rainydays #flowergrower

05.01.2022 Yeah, I totally have a thing for deep, rich, burgundy roses! Their velvety texture and heavenly scent is intoxicating! I never cease to be amazed by the beauty of nature. 05.01.2022 Edible...medicinal....feverfew. A great floral or landscape filler. Needs little care and self seeds happily. We can all do with a bit of low maintenance help in the garden sometimes! #feverfew ... #Tanacetum parthenium #daisyflower #edibleflowersnsw #edibleflowerscentralcoastnsw #permacultureflowers #medicinialflowers See more

03.01.2022 I spy with my little eye.... The formation of seed. This technique of winnowing, shared by my permaculture teacher, is a great way to let seed mature on the plant, whilst freeing up space in the garden. Win-win!! Soon I'll have my own source of carefully selected seed. Often 'hard to grow' plants become easier to grow over a few generations of seed saving. Always, working with nature to make these challenges effortless. ... And yes, you can use these in dried arrangements too, when allowed to cure out of the rain... but hey, these are for seed and the intention is that a few will return to the earth, without having to sow any. Building resilience into the system, with permaculture. A garden that gardens itself is my favourite garden of all! #seedsaving #bellsofireland #permacultureflowers #notedibleflowers #microflowerfarm #slowflowersaustralia
