20.01.2022 Who else is getting into the Christmas Spirit early?! Its mid November and we’ve got that tree up and got our photo with Santa hubby likes to wait until Dec 1 but I beg every year and I finally won that argument. 2020 Christmas come at me! But seriously ... this photo has to be my favourite ever, Nixon holding daddy’s hand Santa holding our doggies who are now 9 and 10 years old and our first Santa photo with our newest family member Raja the cat. And look we weren...’t cat people but Kiara begged and begged and wished upon every wish and every birthday candle and when the world went into crisis we finally said yes and now we have this beautiful memory of 2020 the year we became cat people. . 16.01.2022 I am worthy. . If your not following @vanessahaldane_ go do it now. She is the most inspiring woman I have ever met! She has got one hell of a story to tell and after all of it has come out the other end the strongest and kindest person I know. I admire her, her message and her movement more then words could express. . Now to be honest, Ive mainly felt worthy my whole life. I was bought up by one kick ass mum who taught me never to take shit from anyone and never to sett...le for anything less then what I deserve. Which is all well and good until something completely out of her or my control happened. I feel like so many people have that one person in our lives that has made us feel unworthy. For me it is my dad. Despite him being present my entire life, walking me down the aisle on my wedding day 6 years ago was my last happy memory with him. When my sister and I were both pregnant with our first babies, a moment in time you would think would be such a highlight for him... he sent us a letter explaining he wanted nothing more to do with us. For reasons to this day are still unclear. After we received this letter, devastated, I tried countless times to reach out and every time was met with abuse. I was 23 and held his first granddaughter in my arms. Confused and hurt is an understatement. . 5 years on and he has missed out on so much of my life, let alone my 3 sisters and the entire life of his 4 grand children. I want nothing more then for him to be proud of me, of all of us. But nothing seems worthy enough of his praise, let alone any acknowledgement or attention, let alone any love. And although I would take him back into my life in an instant theres a lesson here. I am so completely and utterly surrounded by people who make me feel worthy. Yes I have that one person who makes me feel unworthy... but I know the difference. I know my self worth and what i deserve. So if you have someone in your life that is unworthy of you, know that it gets easier. Focus on the things most important to you and never ever forget that you are worthy. See more

15.01.2022 I thought Id take the opportunity to say hey thank you for being here! (and also share this photo from our recent networking picnic thanks Picture Book by Brooke ) Earlier this year the original owners of the Hide & Seek Market announced they would be stopping the market ! Id been a supporter for years, as a stall holder and as a shopper and did not want to see the markets end! So I messaged the owner asking if she would be interested in selling it as the universe had ...never felt so aligned! I had recently sold my tshirt printing business and although Id started an eco friendly business it was in its early days and I wasnt sure I was eco warrior enough to truely bring it to life... so here I was. With cash in the bank and without even realising it so completely and utterly ready for my life to take on a new direction. Something I have always been passionate about is supporting small business. Not just by purchasing but in building each other up to succeed. Id been lucky enough to host networking & charity events last year and really enjoyed how these events created such a community. Small business can be so isolating... trying to follow a dream with kids at our ankles and surrounded by people who dont understand why you bother for little financial gain. But I get it. Ive been there. And you are not alone! The Hide & Seek Markets and events are here to create that community! However Ive never been so devastated as I was when I had to cancel my very first market the week it was to be held due to Covid. But during the last 6 months Ive run 5 online markets and hosted my first networking event! And I couldnt be more thankful to their success! Thank you to everyone who has been apart of this journey so far; your support means everything. I seriously cant believe my life now. But the most exciting of all will be (finally) hosting my first physical market! And it is soon to become a reality! I really hope with all my heart I get to see a beautiful sunny day, a Covid safe environment and a full and bustling market where we as a community support small business, support families and support dreams

12.01.2022 Who’s going to join me in taking this pledge this year ?! Coz you know what, all those big chain stalls will still be there next Christmas and you know who won’t be without your support?! The small businesses... the ones with the big dreams, the ones who started this year, the ones who poured everything into that dream to have a global pandemic shut them down for months, those who struggled to pay bills during lockdown... Support people in your community, support the parent...s you pass at kindy drop off, support your friend who you know is trying so hard, support the mum not wanting to return to work! Support those small shops you walk past every time you go into the big shops, detour into the shop you always see empty because next time it might not be there! I urge you to make the pledge, make a list now of ideas. Do a Facebook post asking your friends to share their businesses. Search local community groups. Search in your Facebook events for local markets and go to them! 11.01.2022 What a day! Today we celebrated so many things. We celebrated our relaunch at Elanora High, we celebrated food trucks, we celebrated small business, we celebrated community & to top it off we celebrated reaching 10000 followers on Instagram! I took over running this market in February, you know, right before the world as we knew it changed. Not great timing to buy a market but I wouldnt change this journey for the world this dream team by my side made up of my VERY enthusiastic 5 year old, the not so enthusiastic 3 year old, my teenage sisters AND my amazing husband! But also every single human at the market today, family, friends, stall holders and customers... and my 10k followers here... we you guys are everything! Today we celebrated so much and it meant so much to so many people; thank you for supporting small business

10.01.2022 How do you refer to Covid-19 in your house?! Its called the germs here and then sometimes the Rona. I will cry if this new outbreak in qld continues and the germs close down our market again especially after such an amazing day yesterday! But for now my fingers are crossed and its business as usual! Our next online market does however launch on Wednesday! Many of the stalls involved are currently in lockdown in Melbourne and need our support! 02.01.2022 Have you watched the Markets episode from Bluey?! Honestly I cried... but I cry in a lot of Bluey episodes so I guess thats normal (please someone else say they do the same ). For anyone who hasnt seen in... Bluey looses her first tooth and the tooth fairy gives her $5 which she decides to spend at the local market but when there she cant decide where to spend it but when she finally does, the story follows the $5 around the market. From stall holder to stall holder..., to customer, to stall holder both as a payment and as change. And eventually ends up back in Blueys hands once more before she drops it into the musicians guitar case. Honestly my heart explodes. What a message. This episodes sums up markets for me. A customer spending their money that enables the stall holders to then spend their money at another stall holder etc etc... Supporting local means everything and I really cant emphasise how much it means to our stall holders.
