Not only did we capture his Week 3 outfit, but also the moment he found the elevated hide, after working really hard to source it. 23.01.2022 A new intro course started yesterday with fun puppies and people. The dogs did a fantastic job for their first class, learning in a novel environment on a HOT afternoon. Looking forward to their progress in the coming weeks. We also had some new breeds in our class, which we always love. #gameforalldogs Any guesses? ... #hidenseeknosework #k9nosework #nosework #scentgames #snifferdog #sniffingfun #gameforalldogs #canineenrichment #dogenrichment #therapeuticsniffing #brisbanedogtrainer #confidencebuilding #noseworkinstructor #noseworkclasses #thedogsgame #introtonosework #brisbanenosework #dogsofbrisbane #noseworkdogs #noseworkdogsofinstagram @ Hide 'n' Seek See more

22.01.2022 ** Introduction to K9 Nose Work ** Tuesday 29 September 6pm 1 place left! Does your dog LOVE to sniff? Looking for something new to do with your dog? Inspired by detection dog training, this 6 week course introduces you and your dog to the exciting world of nosework.... Nervous, shy and dog reactive dogs are most welcome and catered for, as each dog searches one at a time, without other dogs present. Nosework builds confidence, adaptability and optimism. No prior training or experience is required from you or your dog. Ideal for highly active dogs, puppies, senior dogs, dogs recovering from surgery, deaf, blind or with long term medical concerns. You know its a great activity when even an Eye Specialist Vet, Animal Physiotherapist and Animal Hydrotherapist bring their own dogs! Nosework is a low impact activity, but burns plenty of mental and physical energy. Perfect to learn in preparation for the upcoming hot and stormy seasons. Book now, one place available. https://mbbandhidenseeknosework.as.me/introductiontok9nosew

21.01.2022 Week 2 of our Intro course and we added in novel objects and some hides to build confidence. 20.01.2022 How wonderful are our Hide n Seek Family! We ran some extra training classes last Friday to prepare teams for upcoming ORT and Element Trials. We kindly requested a product donation in lieu of class payment, to assist Making a Difference - Brisbane, to distribute to the vulnerable and those in need. Much to our delight, our nosework teams answered the call with such generosity! This amazing grass roots community group, makes up individual backpacks with toiletries, ponchos, s...nacks, stationery etc to distribute. Times are really tough for everyone right now, but people on the streets and at risk still need a hand up and something to lift their spirits. Community groups and charities have been impacted hugely by Covid. Sadly with less donations coming in, they are not able to help all who need it. If you are able to pop a little something in your trolley when you do your shop, and then drop off to Making a Difference, you can help. Every item donated, is appreciated. Travel sized toiletries are also welcomed if you have any unused and unopened. Look for half price specials and bulk packs of tissues and toiletries at supermarkets, Kmart, Target etc. Well comment below with their core list of items that are always in need. For drop off points, pop Making a Difference a message. We are also happy to pass on if you bring your donations to any of our nosework classes or events. We thank you for your kindness.

This is going to be a fun class, most of the dogs are under 1, so a perfect energy burning activity to do with growing bodies. #hidenseeknosework #k9nosework #nosework #scentgames #snifferdog #sniffingfun #gameforalldogs #canineenrichment #dogenrichment #therapeuticsniffing #brisbanedogtrainer #confidencebuilding #noseworkinstructor #noseworkclasses #thedogsgame #introtonosework #brisbanenosework #dogsofbrisbane #noseworkdogs #noseworkdogsofinstagram #bordercolliesofinstagram #sheltiesofbrisbane #malinoisofbrisbane #cockerspanielsofbrisbane #tollersofbrisbane #labradoodlesofbrisbane @ Hide n Seek

16.01.2022 This is not dog related, but extremely important. Please be careful on social media today. We would hate for anyone to experience this distressing clip.

16.01.2022 We had not one but TWO new Introduction to K9 Nose Work courses start last night. It was lovely to see some familiar faces return to try it out with more of their dogs. 12.01.2022 Week 5 Intro and we work on hides in tight spaces, elevated hides and searches that require going through or in weird surfaces, textures and objects. @ Hide 'n' Seek

12.01.2022 We have to take a moment to recognise little man, Mojo, and his mum. Mojo was referred to us for therapeutic nosework by his vet behaviourist, Dr Kat Gregory. He has hyperparathyroidism and some of the side effects have also contributed to some long term emotional challenges for him, including phobia of cars, generalised anxiety and concerns with noises. This little man has gone strength to strength through our course levels. With patience, adaptation, giving him appropriate ...challenge levels and plenty of choice, he is now overcoming situations he would previously struggle with. He is bouncing back and is able to continue on from unexpected situations that he would have previously shut down from. This is round 2 of Intro to Odour with him after having some health concerns arise, and consequently, also some emotional obstacles, the first time around. So proud to say his Week 5 and Week 6 classes were his best ever, even finding one of the hides faster than any of the other dogs in class, in his own trotting style. His mum is his best champion, and is continuously setting new goals for him to expand his world and his comfort levels. Next long term goal is entering an Odour Recognition Test! He could not be in a better family. We love you Mojo and Nat! #hidenseeknosework #k9nosework #nosework #scentgames #snifferdog #sniffingfun #gameforalldogs #canineenrichment #dogenrichment #therapeuticsniffing #brisbanedogtrainer #confidencebuilding #noseworkinstructor #noseworkclasses #thedogsgame #introtonosework #brisbanenosework #dogsofbrisbane #noseworkdogs #noseworkdogsofinstagram #scentwork

10.01.2022 Sniffing is not just for sport! We LOVE the power of sniffing, its a natural dog behaviour and outlet they need. Sniffing and structured nosework activities can assist with emotional challenges and overall physical and emotional wellbeing.

07.01.2022 ** Expressions of Interest for Weekday Daytime Introductory Nosework Courses ** We are looking to refresh, tweak and make some updates to our range of courses and classes, to ensure our nosework teams get the best coaching possible. Additionally, where possible, our aim is to create more class options and minimise wait times. Currently, we have many dogs on the waitlist to start, but most evening classes are fully booked in advance for an extended period of time. We will be a...ble to offer additional classes to our schedule if they are during the day. If you are keen to keen to join us for our introductory and possibly follow on nosework courses (4-6 week blocks) and are available during weekdays during the day, could you please send us a message with your availability and expression of interest. For most courses and classes, we require a minimum of 4-6 enrolments to commence. Ideally, we will look to add some 4-5.30pm classes (Mon-Wed & possibly Fri), but may look at AM options if enough demand. Keep in mind warmer months are coming, so training during middle of the day is not really a viable option for summer. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks for your enthusiasm and interest.

06.01.2022 Our Continuing Odour 2 course had a brilliant night this week. The focus was thresholds at different doorways and we threw in a novel room search at the end for fun. Keep an eye on this space for new courses added to the schedule.

03.01.2022 Element Trial Vehicles is now open for registration! Qld residents only. Element Trials are perfect for dogs who do better with a shorter wait time, or who may find specific search elements more challenging, as you do all 4 searches in a row on the same element and then you are finished.

03.01.2022 In the final week of our Introduction to K9 Nose Work course we work on vehicle searches. Sadly, we were missing half of our class due to illness, but that meant these teams were kept very busy! They picked up the concept very quickly and all were absolutely loving the snack car. 02.01.2022 A big congratulations to all of the teams who competed in todays very first Element Speciality Trial on Vehicles. You all did a brilliant job. 01.01.2022 Element Trial - Vehicles Event Update A big thanks to everyone who has registered for this event to date and for those who have registered to volunteer. We now have new COVID-19 restrictions for QLD as of last Saturday, with currently a maximum of 30 people groups outdoors. With this in mind, we are looking to see if we can arrange check in and search times to ensure they are COVID-19 restriction compliant. This will be evaluated over the coming days and will also depend on f...inal entry numbers. The next week will be critical in QLD, and further restrictions or changes may apply. We aim to keep you updated as soon as we have information, but please note, changes or event cancellation may occur at short (or even VERY) notice. Full refunds will be offered in the event of a cancellation. Once event registrations and information is collated and forwarded from ACSW, we will email you information on location, check in, parking etc. The entries for this event close this Friday 28 August 5pm, so you may not receive an information email until the next week. Due to the ever changing public health situation we face, please bear with us with the short lead time. We were cautious about opening entries as early as we normally would, in case of having to cancel due to COVID, so this did lead to a short entry window and very close closure date to the event. There are still have places available for this event and also are looking for more volunteers to assist. To register for this event: http://acsw.com.au/events/l1v5sep20qld/ To register as a volunteer: http://acsw.com.au/events/l1v5sep20_v/ If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us and we will assist as best we can. We appreciate your understanding and patience in this challenging time. We remain hopeful all of the upcoming nosework competition events in QLD for 2020 will be able to run. Stay safe!
