21.01.2022 Do I think Hidez Hoods really work? You be the judge. Let me tell you a story. This is whiskey, my dads little mare by default but in my care. Whiskey has been in the family for almost 5 years. Whiskey is a lovely sweet mare with a deeply troubled past. At 15 years young, she is a very green 15. Whiskey unfortunately had an unforgiving past before coming to our family which still troubles her. She is an internal stress head, she never outwardly shows stress as much as she s...hould but she internalises, waits for an over flowing of stress and has mini melt downs. She is fearful when she does something ‘wrong’ she will be flogged. Small things like tripping, she over thinks and then goes into a spin. Running backwards and spinning are her forte. Painting a good picture? Brilliant. She’s a trooper of a mare, we’ve noticed her in season once in 5 years, she would go til her legs fell off. But she stresses. She is the worrier to end all worrying. Would you ever pick it? Hardly. Until it goes wrong. Will walk straight on the float, even when it’s scaring the shit out of her. Today, this incredible little horse went on her first float ride and her first outing in over 2 years. We went to the beach! Only the second time she has been ridden in such time too. Put her hood on before we left the paddock and had an immediate release. Soft ears, licking, chewing and nice breathing releases. Put her on the float, walked straight on and floated like a gem. Got to the car park, unloaded and it was like she had been there before a million times over. She was soft and responsive and calm. She was so calm that a branch blew out of a tree nearby (it was windy) I jumped and she didn’t budge a bit. She was content. Whiskeys first day at the beach was one we shall always remember. Over lots of terrain, surface changes, in the water, out of the water, lots of splashing, over logs, watched fish swim through the water, didn’t care for the crabs, the fallen trees on the beach or the breeze. She was the happiest little horse and she tried her best. Walk, trot, and about 3 strides of canter all on a loose rein. The hoods have proved themselves to me, I am a believer. What they have done for our little mare is incredible. I won’t sell something if I don’t believe in it. I think I’ll be selling Hidez for a long time! 18.01.2022 Horses. Last week I woke to my young horse with a fat leg. On with an Ice Compression sock, filled half way with ice and left on to work it’s magic. When I removed the sock around half hour later, around 95% of the swelling was gone. The wonders of Hidez products will never cease. Ice compression socks are a great Christmas idea for any equestrian, they are a great item to have on hand for those situations just like mine, for use post competition or even for use during trav...el.
