24.01.2022 To all Monaro Residents Monday the 30th January is shaping up to be the worst fire danger day we have had this fire season. With the temperature reaching 37 deg...rees and wind gusts up to 65kph the fire danger for tomorrow will be SEVERE. There will be a Total Fire Ban in place for Monday and all fire permits have been suspended. If landholders could postpone all work that involve slashing welding grinders and all machinery work that may start a fire we may get through the day without needing to call out our Volunteers I feel sure all firefighters will not complain if they have to stay at work or home tomorrow. Significant periods o...f no rain have left our landscape extremely dry. While there is no longer a requirement for permits, we request that everyone considers delaying any burning or hot works they had planned during the heat of the day until conditions ease. See more
