25.01.2022 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Just recently, we got to spend the morning with Brad and Kara from High Country Tours with Taste for our Christmas Party! We loved exploring the enchanting Cloudlake Ravensbourne, enjoyed a coffee with a view from The Woods Ravensbourne and tasted the fruits of the Emeraude restaurant created with locally grown produce- it was VERY DELICIOUS ... How lucky are we to live in such a beautiful part of the world?!

25.01.2022 We have a sneaky after-hours recycler amongst us!! This used toothpaste tube was found this morning on our doorstep! We are a collection point with Terracycle to collect this non-recyclable material. Once we send our collection away, the tubes, brushes, electric heads, and floss containers are separated by composition, shredded and melted into hard plastic that can be remoulded to make new recycled products! 20.01.2022 Do you Repurpose your worn out toothbrushes? We would LOVE to know what creative, interesting (or boring!) things you might use your old toothbrush for! 13.01.2022 UDATE 29/03/2020 High Country Dental is still OPEN at this point. However we ask that you do not visit our clinic unannounced during the COVID-19 crisis. Which means, no walk-ins. Please call us first on 4698 1078. You can also email us at [email protected] or message us via our facebook page. We do, however, have government-imposed restrictions (due to COVID -19) on all dentists and the treatment we can provide to our patients. In short- we can still help you, ...but our staff will be asking you a few extra questions on the phone. And we may not be able to provide treatment in every case. Please be patient with us through this. Keep washing hands and stay at home as much as possible :D

We will be able to provide a broader range of necessary procedures for our patients. WHAT REMAINS THE SAME? Our high standard of infection control measures. We will continue to practice social distancing where possible. For example, we are carefully scheduling appointments so that our patients will only be in contact with their dental team. 04.01.2022 Don't forget to look after your smile during COVID-19! Here are some tips for how to thoroughly brush your teeth: 2 Minutes! The recommended brushing time is 2 minutes, morning and night.... The toothbrush: Choose the softest brush you can find! Using a hard-bristled toothbrush or applying firm pressure can cause gum recession and enamel wear leading to sensitivity. It is also recommended to change your toothbrush every 3 months, and especially after a cold. Technique: Be gentle and brush in a circular motion on the sides of your teeth and make sure all surfaces are brushed. Brushing cleans 60% of the tooth surface. To clean the other 40%, floss once a day or use interdental brushes (piksters). This video is brought to you by the Australian Dental Association.

02.01.2022 We don’t want sound like the grinch this Christmas, but we DO want you to be smiling all holiday long! Here are some things to remember this festive season.. 1. Keep up the good work by cleaning your teeth EVERY morning and night.... 2. Chew with caution! Foods like peanut brittle and candy canes can break or chip teeth. Also, your teeth are not tools, please don’t open food packaging and beverages with your teeth! 3. Limit the sweets! Sugar feeds the bad bacteria living in our mouths which leads to dental problems. Sticky sugary foods make the top of the naughty list! 4. Keep a tab on the number of acidic food and drinks you are consuming. This can cause harm to the enamel, the protective layer on your teeth. 5. Our best tip! If you can't brush your teeth immediately after having sticky or sweet foods, rinse your mouth with water to flush away food debris.
