23.01.2022 With the continuing dry, and virtually no standing feed, we have now swapped our breeders, heifers with first calves and sires waiting to go out with their herds over to TurboPro, specifically designed for drought feeding. A much thicker mix than our liquid supplements due to the inclusion of grain, higher levels of protein meal and 12.5% protein and 9.5 MJ ME/kg. We are very pleased with how they have held their condition, considering our paddocks are virtually bare.

22.01.2022 With the excitement of rain over some of the region, we must also be mindful of the importance of ensuring to maintain our cattle’s energy, particularly breeder...s, in these times. Unfortunately the combination of changing climatic conditions and the arrival of fresh, sweet green pick brings an additional challenge for our already affected stock. More than ever the importance of an effective and functioning rumen is our priority with these animals . Hence the need for provision of additional dry roughage sources or access to mature standing pasture to maintain and sustain themselves is critical. The fresh green pick that the animals will now be chasing is obviously high in moisture content and low in dry matter and fibre which can lead to an undesired accelerated rate of rumen passage and a negative impact on the animals performance.. The FPA VALLEY BOOSTER SUPPLEMENT is a blend of cracked grains, fibre sources and protein meals enhanced with higher levels of minerals required by adult breeding cattle during extended dry period and low pasture availability.
