These school holidays we are running our Adventure Camp, a 5 day residential camp in the Mary Valley for children aged 12-16 years of age. Your children will have the opportunity to - Rock climb and Abseil (on real rock).... - Canoe down a river. - Learn how to burn stuff and cook stuff on a fire. - The camp will be run to an industry approved COVID safety plan All activities will be run by Higher Ground's qualified outdoor education instructors (the same ones we use at Easter and the holidays). 12.01.2022 Each week over the last couple of months our programme staff have participated in a game of Task Master (basically a heap of crazy tasks), facilitated by the Master Task Master himself Jon Soper-Dyer. The grand finale was to be the quickest to eat half a watermelon.

Time to pack some adventure in to the holiday break - what about canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, abseiling, mountain biking and more. Camping out under the stars, cooking on an open fire and working together to overcome challenges facilitated by highly experienced Higher Ground Crew. The camp will be run to an industry approved COVID safety plan, so you can relax and we will look after your kids. 09.01.2022 Stop climbing the walls and Climb The Wall Boredom buster - days full of adventure and fun outside mountain biking and climbing a rock wall and more. A full day of adventure facilitated by highly experienced Higher Ground Crew in a industry approved COVID SAFE environment.

07.01.2022 The team at Higher Ground were honoured to be a Finalist in the Outdoors Queensland Awards. Congratulations to all the winners for 2020.

02.01.2022 Higher Ground are back in the outdoors! 220 students and staff camped out for 3 nights at Kenilworth Homestead and Charlie Moreland’s campsite. The students worked together to overcome the challenging and steep walk over Town Ridge in an afternoon and back again the next day for lunch. Magical mornings of the ground blanketed in frost met the students as they climbed out of their tents. The final night students were rewarded with a celebration by the bonfire. Students crossed over a nearby bridge, casting negative traits off into the fire, to be welcomed by their headmaster on the other side with a clean slate going into Year 12.
