25.01.2022 We welcomed a group of drama students today from Toowoomba Christian College, who shared their wonderful presentation of the story of the first Christmas with us. Bravo & thank you TCC students.

20.01.2022 We choose to provide every child with a Portfolio at the end of their Kindy year. Some children love them so much they sleep with them! A Portfolio is not simply a book filled with art & craft samples. Portfolios are valuable tools that document a child's learning journey & how that relates to our curriculum. 13.01.2022 This week the Bilby's "Best Ever Dinosaur Museum" opened but due to COVID19 restrictions the only visitors allowed were the Koala Group children. Our Bilby families didn't miss out though, they were treated to a virtual tour instead, just like other museums around the world at the moment.

10.01.2022 Our Koala Group loved the rhyming book ‘Oi Frog!’ so much they explored the series of the books & then got very excited about making their own version of the book, ‘Oi Koalas!’ They spent mealtimes discussing things they could sit on that rhymed with their own names for their page in the book. Some names were very easy & some required a bit of extra creativity! They were so enthusiastic about the project that they created a page for each of the staff too. The book was launched during our recent Book Week celebrations at the Kindy.

09.01.2022 COME & VISIT OUR STAFF AT THRIVE ON ARTS at the Empire Theatre next THURSDAY 24 SEPTEMBER between 9am - 12noon. THRIVE on Arts is a celebration of play, imagination, creativity & storytelling, presented by C&K - The Creche & Kindergarten Association Limited. There will be free activities from 9am - 2pm each day of THRIVE (25 - 29 September) including games, storytelling, arts & crafts. You might also like to check out the clowning & play workshops or 'Puffin Palooza' children's show. There is an artistic activity or interactive experience for all children from 1 - 13 years old & their adults. 09.01.2022 REDUCING OUR ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT THANKS TO HERITAGE BANK HIGHFIELDS & CROWS NEST Our newly upgraded solar power system will fully offset the Kindy’s electricity requirements for the foreseeable future. Thanks to a generous grant of $19,304 provided by the PCCN (Progressive Community Crows Nest Ltd) a community venture of the Highfields & Crows Nest Heritage Bank branches, we were able to complete the solar upgrade recently. Solar energy makes use of the most sustainable resource on the planet the light of the sun. It will significantly decrease our ecological footprint & in addition to the saving for our environment, the cost saving of approximately $4,000 each year will make a substantial financial impact, a meaningful factor for our not-for-profit community Kindergarten. 05.01.2022 As our final week of Kindy for 2020 finishes, we have all the end of year feelings! It’s a time when we proudly reflect on how much the children have developed & grown; not just in height! Their play & ideas have become complex & intricate; they are much more independent & have become competent with problem solving, conflict resolution & negotiating skills. We also have a sense of sadness, as we realise it is the end of our part in your child’s educational journey. To be a part of your child’s life, even for just a year, is such a privilege. Thank you for entrusting us with them. A special bond is certainly formed during the year between us & your children & family; we cherish each & every one of you. Our door is always open.

04.01.2022 KINDY PHOTOS THIS WEEK During normal Kindy session times tomorrow (Koala & Bilby Groups) & Wednesday (Wombat & Possum Groups), professional Kindergarten photos will be taken of each child. In the coming weeks you will receive a proof together with details on how to order & pay for any photos that you might like to purchase.

03.01.2022 Thank you for your support & patience this year & understanding of the limitations implemented in our Kindergarten to ensure that we all remained as safe & healthy as possible. It was extremely special to be able to celebrate with you at the family evenings hosted for each Group at the end of our year. After all the isolation from others this year, we hope that you can be surrounded by your loved ones this Christmas. Merry Christmas!
