25.01.2022 Wow, wow, wow. What an amazing night. There nothing like a Red Hatters interchapter event to make one especially thankful for living in WA. An event like this feels like life is returning to normal after the restrictions of Covid 19. Our grateful thanks to the Beryl Woodfin and the Roving Red Rebels for hosting a very special evening of glitz and glamour. As soon as you stepped through the door and entered the 'magic ballroom' you felt a sense of elegance and anticipation.... It was obvious that the women who decorated the room put a lot of thought and attention to detail into creating the beautiful table decorations and stunning room decor - everything was perfect. All our ladies looked incredibly beautiful in their gorgeous dresses, tiara’s and bling. The decorations were only the start of this wonderful night, the food (including a dessert buffet) was delicious and there was plenty of it. The entertainment by 'Rockin Rod' took us back to the 60's & 70's, with all our favourite tunes to keep us dancing all night. It was wonderful opportunity to renew friendships and spend the evening catching up with our sweet Red Hat sisters. Our thanks to Linda and the crew at the Woodfin pavilion for their hospitality. It was a lovely, memorable night.

25.01.2022 Today the Seniors Recreational Council of WA hosted their annual gala event in the Astral Ballroom of the Crown Perth. This years theme was the High Society Ball and our ladies looked absolutely stunning in their beautiful ball gowns and gorgeous bling. The Highland Highnesses added incredible colour, glamour and frivolity to the room. Our fabulously talented ladies stole the show with our own unique style of ballroom dancing, high-stepping dance routines and Ariana's high ...kick interpretation of the Tangoette. The Satin Dolls band along with Moira J Scott entertained us with several songs by Patsty Cline. It was a fabulous event and all who attended are looking forward to next years ball. Enjoy the photos, feel free to upload or tag them. ** More photos taken by Martin, Photographer for the Seniors Recreational Council of WA are available at http://www.srcwa.asn.au/srcwa-high-society-ball/ See more

21.01.2022 Well this Melbourne Cup was like no other in the history of Australia, but not even Covid-19 was able to stop ‘the race that stops a nation’. The Highland Highnesses hosted this amazing event and shared the fun, games and festivities with their guests the Tantalising Tenacious Tarts. Our ladies looked amazing; their red and purple attire and fabulous hats added so much zing, colour and atmosphere to the event. No Melbourne Cup would be complete without the cup sweepstakes..., and everyone kept the scrutineers very busy. Once the race was called, Arthur and his team were kept busy distributing the prize money; the Red Hatters were well represented in the winner’s circle as you will see in the photos. For entertainment we had some hilarious moments with the local version of the Kalamunda Cup including bidding/buying a filly or a stallion and then rolling the dice on the racetrack to determine the winner. Following the Kalamunda Cup, Kerry O’Brien was presented with a bottle of bubbles for winning the ‘Best Hat Contest- congratulations and well-done Kerry. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the festivities of the day and are looking forward to Melbourne Cup 2021, in whatever form it takes. Thank you to Kalamunda (Bowling) Club management and patrons who always make us feel so welcome with their warm hospitality. Thanks to the Kalamunda Club for the fresh roses and red tablecloths for our Red Hatters. Special thanks to Arthur, and his team of kitchen staff who provided a delicious lunch, as well as the wonderful bar staff, the men who ran the sweeps, and all the workers who made this day a roaring success and heaps of fun.

16.01.2022 Our Annual Bingo event produced a lot of fun and laughter as we turned the clock back and relived the days of being a child with no worries, and no responsibilities. Our girls came with freckles and pigtails, some dressed in their school uniforms, others in their party clothes and one girl came in her onesie. Our event included a beauty pageant (judged by the Dome staff) and our conterstants took home champagne, chocolates and a small gift of jewellery. Childhood photos had everyone guessing; and our game of 'Pillar to Post' by balancing 4cups provided a chance to test our skills and enjoy plenty of laughs. Thanks to Trish at Dome - Kalamunda and her team of helpers that made our day possible and so enjoyable.

14.01.2022 Today the Highland Highnesses did what they do best have fun whilst creating memories, growing friendships and supporting a very worthy cause. Marcia and Bob Nicholls hosted the event in their gorgeous house; assisted by their friend Jan they blessed us with their gracious and generous hospitality (and were the judges of the bra decoration contest). I’m lost for words to describe the bras our ladies created, smart, sexy, stunning, & sumptuous are words that drop into... my mind. Congratulations ladies, well done, your creations were goggle-eyed amazing. (Next year I think we need to invite some other chapters to join in the fun and knock this event out of the ballpark and into outer space.) I’m including some photos from 2010 & 2011 when we first supported the Purple Bra Days fundraiser. If you compare the before and after photos you won’t see any difference a great advertisement for staying young, keeping fit and having fun with the Red Hatters of WA.

12.01.2022 Wow, wow, wow. What an amazing night. Thanks to the Beryl Woodfin and the Roving Red Rebels for a very special evening of glitz and glamour. As soon as you stepped through the door and entered the 'magic ballroom' it left you with a sense of elegance and a wonder. The table decorations were second to none. One look told you that the women who decorated the room put a lot of thought and attention to detail into creating beautiful tables and a stunning room - everything wa...s perfect. The invited guests from several chapters all looked stunning, and the ambience was light-hearted and thoroughly enjoyable. The decorations were only the start of this wonderful night, the food including a dessert buffet was delicious and there was plenty of it. The entertainment by 'Rockin Rod' took us back to the 60's & 70's, with all our favourite tunes to keep us on our feet all night. Thanks to Linda and crew at the Woodfin pavilion for your hospitality. It was a lovely night to remember. See more

08.01.2022 Another fun-filled Natter starting with our Mirthday Birthday Babes, followed by the sweet scintillating 'Lollipop Ladies'; and topped off with a naming ceremony. And... a reminder to decorate your bra's for Purple Bra dayz Afternoon Tea. Life is NEVER boring with the Highland Highnesses.

08.01.2022 A fun-filled day at the Best Drop Tavern, Kalamunda. 20 ladies enjoyed a lovely lunch and lots of fun as we played a variety of Games. Thanks to Heather Long who organised the day the room with filled with mirth and merriment.

07.01.2022 Today the Ellenbrook Classy Tarts, led by Queen Caroline Atkins hosted a delightful lunch at Pasta in the Valley. The Ellenbrook Classy Tarts along with their guests, the Highland Highnesses, added not only colour to the room, but a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. Once lunch was served there was a noticeable quietness; a sign that the food was so good that we stopped talking long enough to enjoy our delicious lunches. It didn't last long and the chatter resumed and a q...ueue formed at the Gelato counter, with everyone checking out the sweets on offer. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon; the camaraderie being enjoyed by both chapters. Thank you, Caroline, for organising this event and for ensuring the seating arrangements created the optimum opportunity to mix & mingle our two chapters. Thanks to the management and waitstaff at Pasta in the Valley for their delicious food and gracious hospitality. See more

07.01.2022 About 30 Highland Highnesses celebrated the easing of Covid 19 restrictions with a scrumptious breakfast at Gracie's Cafe. The champagne flowed, our ladies glowed and sunshine abounded everywhere. There were new outfits to show off, new friends to greet and old friends to meet. Merriment and mirth filled the air to make the day lovely and enjoyable for all who attended. A special welcome to Debbie and Kathy; we hope to see more of you in the future.

05.01.2022 Today the sun was shining as Heather welcomed 53 members and guests to another amazing natter filled with fun and frivolity. After singing the Highland Highnesses theme song we celebrated Mirthday celebrations with our Birthday Babes. (As it happens, October is the birth month of Queen Heather so she was presented with a special Happy Birthday golden sash.) Our delightful entertainment diva Margot, entertained us with a comic rendition a well-deserved thunderous applause. ... Sue Davies presented a humous poem about little boys. After so many funny ditties it was time to head to Mary's Crema Cafe for a coffee or a bite to eat. See more
