Mentor, Friend, Father, Inventor, P...hilosopher, Raconteur, Referee of Referees, Athlete and an Author too. But he was best known in strength circles as the Godfather of Strongman But he was often lovingly reffered to as simply 'Big Dougie'!

02.01.2022 Get Ready to be amazed!!!! Forget world class strongman for a second - here is old Brycie throwing at The Highland Games - surely it doesn tget better than th...is!!! Hmmmmmm.... today, i have realised, that a large part of my not particularly glorious sporting career is more or less ancient history... Why is that you may ask? Well, I have A/ realised my sporting days in the Highland Games are from a previous century. So i cant pretend my Games career was recent history anymore. Especially as i cant say it was in the previous decade anymore - and actually it was more like the last Millenium!! Ouch. Moreover - and worryinglyfor me was B/ my Highland Games footage is/was saved for 'all eternity' on the famously long-lasting Video Archive Format known as the 'Blockbuster VHS tape' - Double Argh! My 'Best of Brycie' at the Highland Games reel is to be fair always going to be a pretty small film. But the film isnt looking any bigger after i tried to play an old VHS today and all i heard was a high pitched stretching sound - followed by that unmistakable snapping noise a dying vhs tape makes!
