23.01.2022 Away 20/9/2020 3 - 2 win

22.01.2022 Match Report Woonona HFC U16 by Joshua Sloboda The first half was excellent and the team dominated the play and caused Woonona a lot of problems trying to defend. By half-time the score was a deserved 3-0. Highlands played as a team determined to overcome fielding only 10 men. They tried to mark Highlands out of the game but to no avai; just prior to half-time Henry was being marked by 6 of their player's. He was involved throughout the game in defence, attacking and tak...ing set-pieces in this game, Henry stepped up a noticeable level. In the 2nd half, it was clearly obvious, Woonona had worked out we only had 10 men and used this to their advantage. They attacked more, used the park better to get space and pretty much took control. Our play went from attack to defend which allowed two quick goals; a questionable penalty opened their scoring. Although their second goal was brilliantly placed off the wing into the top left corner. Chris had no chance of saving the goal but our defense should have stepped in well before the shot. We created enough chances in the first half the scoreline could have easily been over 5 goals. There was one or two potential goal oppertunities in the 2nd half but due to poor finishing we failed to kill off the game. Overall, Im happy with how the 10 men played and allowances have to be made due to a few things; condition of the pitch was shocking it was visibly uneven, we had to play against 11 players with a team who had Subs which they used. The boy's tried in both attacking and defending and were fatigued. At the end of the day Highlands won and picked a crucial 3 points which puts us in a good position to take 3rd; they showed their determination and dug deep to play as well as they did.

22.01.2022 Always good to watch any of our National teams play.

09.01.2022 Great video for all players, coaches, and parents to watch discussing the latest method of playing out of the back.

09.01.2022 HSA Reps - Country Cup 2020 Dear All, The HSA is dedicated to improving participation & providing Boys and Girls with more pathways for their football developme...nt and enjoyment. This year we are determined to see the representative program up and running by entering teams in the Country Cup. This is a huge task and we need your help. For the HSA to provide this program we need to prove its viability, we need to prove there are sufficient numbers of boys and girls wanting to represent the Southern Highlands at a representative level, so we are seeking expressions of interest for both players and coaches. Firstly, here are 2 questions I am always asked by parents when discussing interest in this program. 1) Can my daughter/son still play with her Club/School team? The answer is yes, absolutely. This program is a true Rep program, made up of a selection of the best players from local teams or you can enter your full team. 2) How big is the commitment we need to make? All you need to commit to is one weekend in October, plus 1 training session per week in the lead up to these weekend so the players can train together. If you know anyone who you think would be interested in representing the Southern Highlands & is between the ages of 11 & 16, please reply to this email with an expression of interest. As I stated before we need a sufficient number of players/coaches to get this program off the ground. To submit your interest please email, your son/daughters details, along with your contact details to [email protected] or via text to 0407 917 062. Expressions of interest need to be submitted by close of business Friday 21st August 2020 . The Country Cup tournament is conducted by Football NSW for Country Representative teams at venues within the Riverina, Southern and Western Branches. This annual tournament affords the Country players the opportunity to play against teams from outside their Branch but is restricted to the Country. 08.01.2022 Spring is just around the corner, which means more daylight hours, warmer days and motivation to get back into shape following our winter slumber. If you are l...ooking to start exercising again remember these top 5 tips to make sure you avoid injury: 1Warm-up: be gentle on your body make sure you spend enough time warming up for every exercise session for at least 10 minutes 2Upgrade slowly: don’t rush the upgrades or push too quickly to return to your peak. Remember the 10% limit rule as your upper limit for any weekly increase 3Check your equipment: inspect your joggers, service your bike and check any equipment you will be using. Check to see if anything is worn out, needs servicing, replacing (or upgrading!) 4Add in some low intensity strength training including some joint stability and proprioception exercises to make sure your body is feeling strong and stable 5Don’t forget recovery and flexibility: yes that means getting back to your roller, stretches, nutrition, rest and sleep routines! Remember, it is all the small things in a training program that add up and help you achieve your goal. If you need help getting started or have an injury or niggle that you need to get sorted call us on 4861 1223 for an appointment. #thephysiospacebowral #springiscoming #injuryprevention #warmup #paceyourself #strengthandconditioning #newrunners #backinshape #training #motivation #physio #synergysportsphysio #nestphysiotherapy #southernhighlands #tpsbowral

01.01.2022 Match Report: Highlands FC v University by Joshua Sloboda Throughout the first half Highlands looked good on the counter attack and pressured University from the start. Dominating the pace of the game which University did not appear to know how to respond or control. Highlands two goals came from open play and well worked counter attack in the first half. Which were scored by Brody and Caleb. The game changed in the 2nd half where University were given more time on the... ball which allowed them the opportunity of creating more chances. Highlands also gave up to much ground to University which led to them creating some dangerous opportunities. Their two goals were gifted by the fact we allowed them more time on the ball especially allowing continually easy movement through the left wing which put Highlands on the back foot. Our defense had been pretty consistent until we conceded the first goal; after which we started to loose the midfield battle. We stepped off the attack and gave he ball away far too easily. We allowed University back into the game and they played us into defensive errors and poor marking. The number of corners, Throw in's , and goal kicks they intercepted in the 2nd half was a problem for us to defend. Overall there are many positives we can take from the game and especially how we played in the first half. Also getting the two goals and literally holding University to the draw was a good team effort. Including our goalscorer I would also like to mention Chris and Brody who played very well.
