19.01.2022 What a beaut place for a function. Herberton historic Village great spot the pioneer camp with its bush kitchen, providing the village with an authentic old style camp oven cooking of damper and billy tea. We are doing their staff Christmas party loving the spot.

17.01.2022 Local custodian of the hall we did a function in tonight came and checked out what we were doing, also had a small taste of Highland Spit Roast's fair, seemed impressed went and told the kid and it came for a sticky beak as well.

11.01.2022 Jim and I would like to thank the Rotary for allowing us to cook their dinner for their Rotary District Conference Dinner at the Rocky Creek Igloo. Congratulations also to the Rotary club on the wonderful job they have done in the restoration of the igloo. It stands as a reminder to us of a time past and the craftsmanship in building this and others in our wonderful community.

10.01.2022 Wonderful wedding yesterday, great venue the Scervil centre in Earlville wonderful staff there, the lovely Luella from Kubarz providing the bar service and drinks. Was a beautiful day. 07.01.2022 It was a great honour to be a part of Chouli and Les Stone's big day. Chouli has been a part of our life for about 12 years, Chouli has worked for us during this time on and off, and we are proud and privileged to call her our friend. When asked to do the food for their wedding we couldn't have been happier, we were told that we were also to come to the ceremony which we were very happy to do. Chouli you looked lovely and your entrance was spectacular, the decorations and ...the hall, were stunning all made and gathered by Chouli. Les you make sure you look after Chouli she is one of a kind and has proved that those who come from adverse situations can become the best they can, and do what they set their mind to do. Your son and you are very lucky to have Chouli as a mum and wife and life time partner. We are very proud to call you our friends. See more

05.01.2022 We had the pleasure of cooking the first dinner for Taani and Aron Charlton, we wish you the best for your future together. This venue was the first time we have being there and what a fantastic venue. Simmons shed off Coyle Rd and then Hume R pd Biboohra. Well maintained large grounds, fabulous rustic building, small functional kitchen, shower and toilet facilities with a wonderful attention to detail and imagination.... Music for this even was by Tony George Entertainment, Tony was also the MC and what a wonderful job. He is an excellent singer and entertainer, he can Sing Chris Isaac songs and sound like him, Jim thought it was a CD, in fact he and his drummer and piano player did a great job on all songs they sang. Highly recommend this venue for an out of the way make as much noise as you like kind of place and Tony and his mates as your entertainment.

03.01.2022 Rocky Creek igloo wonderful place for a wedding. Love the setting and wonderful job to those involved in setting the venue up. To the restoration of this wonderful historic building, well done to those involved.

03.01.2022 We as a small business strive to help and provide wonderful food and service at all our events. However at times we appear to fail in some areas. We don't have uniforms however we come to events neatly dressed mostly in black which is the standard. ... We provide wholesome food at a reasonable price, for the numbers requested. We are not responsible for the, extra numbers that may be there, eg the band, bar, the entertainment people for the kids. We leave what is left over behind, however if the guests want to come back for seconds they are more than welcome therefore there may be no food left over. We are not responsible if the guests at the function want to take 3-4 or more of the bread rolls, or if the kids want to do the same and fiddle with the food that is the parents responsibility. We go out of our way to accomodate our clients with their requests of, can you carve the whole pig, lamb or others foods that our clients want, or to watch and ensure the extra meat that you have in your own or hired spits are not burning or in fact is cooking. This takes time away from the meat and preparation of the food that we supply, this has never been a problem, however in the future we may not be as forth coming with these requests. We have met some wonderful people along our years of doing this, we have been doing the same clubs and people's functions, weddings for every daughter in families and sons, this to me says we are not half bad. If you want high end food perhaps we are not the business for you. We do everything on site we prepare the roasts at the facility along with the most of the salads, the mayonnaise salads are prepared by Mrs Mcorckers we can not by law prepare them. Kim and Jim

01.01.2022 Another great and busy weekend in Mt Suprise with the wonderful Cape York & Tablelands A.S.H. Thank you for your continued support, we have been working together for about 7 years and Jim and I have made some wonderful friends & Jim has reconnected to childhood people from when his parents were on various stations around the gulf country, which he loves. We have been to Chillago, Mareeba and Mt Surprise and soon to a new venue Lakeland. We look foward to more years workin...g and supporting each other. Thank you again Colleen & Henry Taylor, Shelly and Kev, Val, and Marty for just being you and wonderful people, the true back bone of our country. And to all our customers who eat our food at these events you are the reason we come back because you enjoy the food, and we take very little home especially this weekend. See more
