24.01.2022 ‘LOVE LETTERS’ CHANGE OF VENUE: ‘Love Letters’ will now be staged at the GIBRALTAR HOTEL Bowral in their beautiful Observatory. As Gibraltar Park is a retirement facility, it was considered prudent to move the production to a larger room with an active Covid-SAFE policy in place. HTG hopes to present a show at Gibraltar Park in the near future, and of course remain thankful for their invaluable support and sponsorship. Performance dates and seating for ‘Love Letters’ remain the same - September 4th to 19th, as will the intimate, engaging nature of the production. We are extremely grateful to John Uliana, Simon Lucas and the Gibraltar Hotel for being so welcoming and enabling theatre to make its return to the Highlands next month. Just 91 tickets remain for the 12 show season, so grab yours now from https://htg.org.au/booking/

08.01.2022 Meet the Director: Lani van Diemen Love Letters is a truly intimate and emotional show that you don’t want to miss. Love Letters will be the directorial debut of one of our most talented young players Leilani van Diemen. We thought we’d share a little Q & A we had with Leilani earlier this week. Don’t forget, our team has been working tirelessly to ensure we can deliver a great show that is both COVID safe and a fantastic experience. There are only 51 tickets left - so b...ook your tickets today! https://htg.org.au/ #theatreinthehighlands #highlandsarts #southernhighlandsarts #southernhighlandstheatre #supportthearts What has been the most satisfying part of directing a show for the first time? Seeing the reactions of people like my crew and helpers when they listen to the cast and are so immersed in the story because it does hit so close to home. What’s it like putting on a show in the middle of a pandemic? The unknown is always there. But we are all very optimistic because this performance is one of the most COVID safe plays you could ever attend, with only two cast and four crew a night who are distanced around the room . What do you want the audience to know about the show? Have an open mind, you will be entertained, you will go through many emotions and you will enjoy the show. Is there anyone you want to thank? I would love to thank my beautiful mom and dad who have always supported me and encouraged me on my weird path in life. It’s never you can’t do that, it’s I’m proud of you for getting this far. Also my partner who has to put up with me through this path. Eloise, who has been my role model for the last few years. Last, but not least, my friends Mellie, Jack, Jaii, Ebony and James, who support me through and through. Thanks also, to the Gibraltar Hotel Bowral, for so generously offering us a COVID safe alternative venue to put on our show.

05.01.2022 Hello Theatre Lovers - ever wondered where those bizarre theatre traditions and superstitions come from? Live theatre has developed a rich history of dos and don’ts and we all love to embrace them. We thought it would be fun to explore some of those traditions. Let’s start with the obvious.. we all know you mustn’t say good luck, instead break a leg and the uniquely Australian chookas have taken its place.. Where do you think these have come from? Tell us your ideas below!
