24.01.2022 A motivated pair of mothers (research psychologists) plan to present anonymous examples of high sensitivity to families and staff at an education evening in November in South Australia. The aim to gather research data on the trait to help other school communities. Please send any highly sensitive child experiences or questions to [email protected]. 02.01.2022 Today marks eight years since our eight year old son Ben died. This page, my small mentoring business and the book I wrote are in honour of him and everything he taught me about parenting a child with a highly sensitive temperament. The most important lesson I learnt was to empathise with all his emotions as they were very real to him. My suggestion to you all- use I statements. I can see you are very upset, I understand that ...... is really difficult for you, can diffuse an emotionally intense situation. In the wise words of Louise Porter- "Children need our compassion when they seem to "deserve" it the least.
