20.01.2022 I acknowledge that the land on which I run my business was stolen from the Yuggera and Turrbal people, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging, and to all Indigenous peoples of Meanjin and the rest of so called Australia. Their sovereignty was never ceded. The Indigenous people of this country have throughout history used and continue to use music as a storytelling, culture sharing, and entertainment medium using both traditional and modern instruments... and styles. As a white man that works closely with musicians of all backgrounds I will do more to uplift and amplify their voices and the songs written by Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island people. Furthermore, Highly Strung Instrument Repairs will be donating 5% of all income to various Indigenous run charities. I will also be providing my labour free of charge and cost price parts to Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander musicians. I’d like to thank my friend William France for taking the initiative in respect to these things and encourage other businesses, if they are able, to pay the rent.
