25.01.2022 Highmoor is thrilled to announce that we will be attending the Moorabbin Primary School fete on tomorrow (Saturday) from 10-4! We'll have a few cool activities organised and we would love to see you there!

25.01.2022 Social tennis is back on again at Highmoor today, starting at 1pm. There will only be two courts as opposed to the usual three, but if you do have times where you are left waiting for a match, you can inspect and admire our brand new fencing and lighting!

24.01.2022 Bad luck to our Boys Section 2 team who unfortunately went down in a close contest in their grand final today, losing by just six games. This is a brilliant result nonetheless, with section two offering an extremely high standard of tennis. Congratulations on a wonderful season! (Thanks to Fiona Ireland for the photo!)

22.01.2022 TABLE TENNIS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP!!! ...Doesn't that sound like something you would like to be part of? It's not official yet, but IF we can garner enough interest, a table tennis club championship could very much become a reality this October! If it were to happen, it would most likely happen in October, open to absolutely every member, in a round-robin format, with finals to take place after that. This could be the ultimate battle for glory!... If you would be interested in this event then please make yourself heard! 22.01.2022 Here is another update regarding the status of our lighting and fencing project. If you have been around the club lately, you would have noticed that a lot of the serious works have well and truly commenced, with the old fencing having been removed and the poles for the new fencing having already been installed. However, there is still lots to do, including finishing the fencing works, installing the light poles themselves and upgrading the power supply. Unfortunately, many o...f the contractors are pushed for time, and given that they have a break over Christmas and January, we have to regrettably announce that it looks like the final completion date may not be until February. Sorry for the inconvenience caused but hopefully it is just a case of some short-term pain for long-term gain. Courts 1-3 will be out of action for approximately the next two weeks, but once the new fencing is installed the courts will be available once more prior to other works commencing later this year or in the new year.

20.01.2022 The 2015 Australian Open presale commences this Friday at noon. All members of Highmoor are also members of Tennis Victoria, and are therefore eligible to access this presale. However, you will need to know your 'My Tennis ID' number in order to access the sale. If you do not know it, please contact me (Scott Lyons) by private messaging this page, or by email or phone, and I can provide it to you. The presale allows you to get the best seats in a given fee category, rather than being stuck with the ones at the very back!

17.01.2022 It's finals time! If you are in a senior comp team, this means either one of two things: a) you are taking part in the finals, and therefore a mid-week hit would be invaluable preparation, or b) your season is now over and so you are craving some tennis! Whatever category you sit in, Wednesday night social tennis sounds perfect for you! It kicks off from 7pm and many comp players attend so the standard of tennis is very high. Be there ;)

16.01.2022 NO SOCIAL TENNIS TODAY Due to the current fencing works, Saturday social tennis will not be held at Highmoor over the next three weeks. Instead, social tennis will be held at 1pm at Basterfield Park on Sundays. It is very close to Highmoor so we hope to see as many people there as possible!

16.01.2022 Highmoor is smashing records this year! We have recently gone past 203 members, and with more than six months left to go in the membership year, we are well on track to surpass last year's number of 209! Remember that Highmoor offers pro-rata rates to new members, so if you know anyone who is interested in joining the club, now would be a great time to trial Highmoor without having to pay too much.

14.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came down last night for Highmoor's Wimbledon Night! We had well over 30 people, with great tennis, great food and lots of fun shared by all! An enormous thank you to Damian Graf who did such a fantastic job in organising the event (and dominating the court with his wooden racquet)!

14.01.2022 In recent years Highmoor and Moorabbin Primary School (MPS) have formed a fantastic partnership. Our coach, Damian, runs tennis clinics for many of the students, and as a result MPS is becoming a great source of new members for Highmoor. On 1st August, MPS is hosting a BOGAN BINGO NIGHT!! All members of Highmoor have been explicitly invited to attend this great event which is sure to be enormous fun! You will have the chance to win some wonderful prizes. 12.01.2022 WIMBLEDON HITS HIGHMOOR! This coming Wednesday, 1st July, Highmoor will be hosting its very first 'Wimbledon Night'! Yes, this means proper Wimbledon court etiquette, i.e. you'll need to come dressed in white! To spice things up a bit we'd also love to see you test your skills with a wooden racquet. If you don't have one, hopefully we will have a couple of spares! We'll have continuous sets of night tennis until 10pm, and Wimbledon coverage will be on the TV inside. 09.01.2022 Due to fencing works, Courts 1-3 will be unavailable as of next Thursday, 20th November (same date as AGM). The courts are likely to be unavailable til Wednesday, 3rd December, although this is subject to change. Courts 4-5 will still be available. However, Saturday social tennis will now be held on Sundays at Basterfield Park (Dane Road), commencing at 1pm. All other organised mid-week social tennis is also likely be held at Basterfield Park at the same times, although confirmation will be provided soon. Thanks for your understanding!

07.01.2022 Want to WIN two tickets to the semi-final of the 2015 Australian Open? Highmoor is holding a special raffle open to all 2014/15 members, with this great prize up for grabs, valued at just under $500. There will be a total of 30 raffle tickets that can be bought. Each ticket will cost $20. If you would like to purchase a ticket, please do so by paying via EFT to the club's bank account and emailing Scott to give notice of your payment. Please note that the BSB written on the m...embership form is wrong, and the correct one is 633 000. As you can probably tell, there are great odds at winning relative to the price of a ticket. This is because the club will only be making minimal profit from the raffle. The winner will be announced at Highmoor's Christmas Barbecue in December, although you do not have to be in attendance in order to win. Tickets are selling fast so get in quickly! Good luck!!

Wednesday is a very important day for multiple reasons: -Night tennis is on at 7pm and LOTS of people have confirmed they will be coming to play. If there is ever a night to come down, this is the night! Feel free to bring down some meat to throw on the BBQ. -Wednesday is the final day to RSVP and pay for tickets to our Golden Jubilee. 04.01.2022 Highmoor's 2014 Club Championships have now been completed, and here are the results! In the U13 Boy's event, Elias Bucko came out as a deserving winner, with Blake Watkins also doing well to finish as the runner-up. In the Junior Boy's event, we had the two Kristic brothers, Alex and Matt, battle out an incredible three set match! Alex just came out on top. In the Junior Girl's event, Emily Petch defeated Mai Doan. In the Women's Open (doubles), Ann Hannah and Nola Hardy finished as very deserving winners. Finally, in the Men's Open, Paul Luke was simply too good for Ben Abbott on the day, coming out on top. Congratulations to all our champions, as well as our runners-up for progressing so far in your event. The Club Championships are always played in a great spirit and we would like to thank everyone for taking part!

03.01.2022 It may have happened two weeks ago, but better late than never! A massive congratulations to Highmoor's Section 1 team, winning their grand final four rubbers to one (one rubber incomplete) against Port Melbourne! The team on the day consisted of Paul Luke, Ben Abbott, Glenn Collins, Philippe Castermane and Jason Mahmoud, whilst Murray Ashton was unfortunately injured on the day. Well done on a terrific season and well deserved victory! Unfortunately we came agonisingly close to another premiership, with our mixed team losing by just four games, after being equal on rubbers. Geoff Lowther, Dong Il Lee, Lucy Rudolph and Monica Ki played on the day, whilst Judy Hooppell, Neil Roberts and Dale Collins played throughout the season. Congratulations on a magnificent fight!
