05.01.2022 A big congratulations goes out to our Year 8 students who participated in a two hour workshop today with Rachel from High Resolves. The theme of the presentatio...n was "A Just Society" and students covered issues such as homelessness, poverty and standards of living, and how they can take action to bring about social change. A staggering fact that came out of the day was that 850,000,000 people (approximately 40 x Australia's population) live at the most basic level of the scale (rice only, tin shed housing, no formal education, poor quality water supply at a distance). The maturity, knowledge and solution-oriented thinking on display from our Year 8 students was truly impressive. The remaining Year 8 students and Year 7 will all participate in this workshop at various times this week. Students will build on today's workshop content in their next Generation Tomorrow (GT) lessons, which are timetabled into their learning each fortnight. #generationtomorrow #citizenshipeducation
