24.01.2022 Dear Students & Parents/Guardians, You will, no doubt be aware that a ‘State of Disaster’ has been called in Victoria. Stage 3 restrictions will apply from Wednesday in Regional Areas and Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne Metro. Restrictions will be in place for six weeks - through until the end of Term 3. Tomorrow is a normal school day on-site (please wear masks). ... Students should take all their learning resources with them at the close of the school day tomorrow. Those families who successfully used dongles in the last period of Remote Learning will need to organise these with a provider. The School cannot supply them this time. Any families who need to have their children at School should book a place with 24 hours notice by emailing, [email protected] Supervision will be available throughout the Remote Learning period. Staff will use Tuesday 4 August to relocate their teaching resources and prepare for a return to Remote Learning. Classes for Years 7-10 will resume on Thursday 6 August. We will meet with VCE students in DELTA before lunch tomorrow to discuss. Kind regards, Melinda Scash Principal **Please note an email has been sent to all Students, Parents/Guardians & Staff containing this information.

21.01.2022 Recently we received an email from Rustic Pathways, on behalf of the community of Somosomo Village in Fiji, thanking us for our donation. This donation enabled the supply to 70 families of 700kg rice, 700kg flour and 700kg sugar along with cucumber, eggplant and cabbage seeds, second hand clothes, soap bars and sanitary pads. The village is doing well and extends their deepest gratitude to the students, staff and families of Highview College.

20.01.2022 Yesterday, at the ISV Student Film Festival 2020 Awards Ceremony, it was announced that Campbell Latch was the winner of two out of three possible awards in his category, for his film ‘Friend or Foe’. Campbell won the Judges’ Technical Award, and he also won the People’s Choice Award. This is what the judges said about his film: From the first images in the opening dream sequence we are aware of the quality of the cinematography, the use of shallow depth of field, the compo...sition of the shots, the great use of sound FX to establish the dramatic mood. The film also uses colour grading to help create the retrospective feel of the past and the quality of the sound recording is first class. The overall production is testament to the quality of work that can be produced by someone of such a young age, which is truly inspirational. Congratulations on your achievement Campbell!

19.01.2022 Well done to Year 7 student, Meg Martin and teacher Miss Mason, who both recently participated in the World's Greatest Shave event for the Leukaemia Foundation. Meg and her entire family participated, while Miss Mason and her partner Dylan raised $2,800 and also donated their locks to be made into wigs. You are our Superheroes! #worldsgreatestshave

09.01.2022 Year 7 student Meg Martin is on a mission to shave the world from blood cancer... Will you be my shave-sidekick and sponsor me for World’s Greatest Shave this year? Your donation will go towards giving Aussie families facing blood cancer the emotional and practical support they need, plus fund vital research. Every day another 41 Australians are diagnosed with blood cancer. Although research is improving survival, sadly an Australian loses their life to blood cancer every 3...6 hours Will you help by sponsoring me? Just click here to sponsor me today: http://my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/megmartin. Thank You! Meg Martin

09.01.2022 On Monday 18 May the Highview College Student Leaders had the privileged opportunity to meet with Jarrod and Thomas Berry - players from the Brisbane Lions Football Club.
