01.01.2022 Breaking news Richard Perso has confirmed he will be headlining the next Highway 31 blues club gig at the Albion Sunday the 6th of April upstairs in the long room.We have been trying to get Richard for a while now and are stoked that he could fit us in to his heavy work schedule. This will be a huge gig not to be missed. His influences include Led Zeppelin, Neil Young and Lord of the Rings.... Equipped with an array of guitars and didgeridoos, Richard Perso’s one-man live performance can only be described as a wall of sound. With a passion for pushing the tonal boundaries and bending the rules of ‘acoustic’ guitar, there is a sense of power in every riff. His voice is likened to that of Eddie Vedder and has a depth reminiscent of early bluesman. His material is a blend of blues, roots, folk and rock and he ranges from in-depth stories from the heart to stompbox driven roots rock. Perso has an impressive track record of over 100 festivals around Australia and overseas. His 2 albums were recorded in the music hub of New York City and he has shared festival lineups with the likes of B.B King, The Black Keys, Gotye and many more. He is a young talent on the rise and one to watch out for.
