24.01.2022 Sometimes, I photograph homes. I love to see how people style, their renovations and conversations; how people see their space and use their space. This beautiful barn renovation/restoration/conversation by @amandakimmitt is just fantastic. If only you saw the before photos This former diary is now a cosy accommodation with a big open plan living room and seperate bedroom... If only I get to live here #hikariphotography #visitregionalvictoria #interiordesign #interiordesigner #interior #architecture #home #homeideas #interiorphotography #interiorphotographer #archdaily #architecturalphotographer

22.01.2022 R E S E T So Ive been keeping a very low profile in the last few months. Our first lock down came around so quickly, that I was almost glad it happened. I had a very busy start to the year, and that break has allowed time for myself to catch up with my work.... It has also given me space to mentally settle down a bit. During that first lock down, I did not want to post anything about my work. Because I did not think it was necessary to put up a pretence, most of my clients and colleagues were hardly working. To post about work almost felt like I am gloating that I have work while others did not. I also did not want to start digging up old photos to post for the sake of posting. I am extremely lucky. While 99% of my work has stopped abruptly, I had new clients approaching me. A few of my regular clients has also gave me work. Ive developed new projects to work on, and have kept myself just as busy. Here we are, now in our second lock down. I feel much more prepared, mentally and also with my career and work. I feel energised and excited for all the new work I have started. I feel that I am ready for this new normal, whatever it may be. While I am not sure where my business will stand after these 6 months, I am confident it will evolve in the right path. I can see the light. So here is to all of you out there ready this, my clients, my colleagues, my friends. While we are all isolated, we are together. Chin up and look towards the bright side. I shall see you all on the flip side of this, without face mask and drinking champagne

19.01.2022 Urban Blooms Getting into week 2 of Urban Blooms, it has been super exciting for me to see what every florists are doing this week! There are a few that I have never photographed before, so I was extra excited and curious to see them work and putting their installation together. For non-florist, it might not be obvious to us, but often we see installations that only need to last 6 hrs (such as for a wedding or a dinner). When you plan for an installation that needs to last 7... days, you’ll need to think about water supply, whether it’ll survive in the outdoor heat, whether the florals should be allowed to dry out and how they will look when they are dry... it is so much more complex then putting together some flowers in a bucket! I hope you take the time and go and see these installations. You shall to get see everyone’s floristry and artistry in their work. Well done to all the florists!!! 16.01.2022 URBAN BLOOMS REGENT THEATRE Number 18 of 18 floral installations for Urban Blooms is definitely one of the most spectacular of them all! And I won’t expect anything less from Liz @flowertemplemelbourne From around 8 weeks ago, during our second lock down, she casually mentioned that she is planning to propose a floral installation, to becoming 18 installations across the Melbourne CBD Liz worked tirelessly behind the scenes in getting EVERYTHING organised. Turning up to just... about all of the installations (whether they are 7am bump ins or 1am setups), dealing with permits (last minute rejects and approvals), problem solving technicalities on site, and hands on with helping other florists setup SHE DID IT ALL! Thank you Liz for putting it all together, then finished it off with one of the most incredible installations! 16.01.2022 I LOVED photographing this setup by @Toriallen_events I got there just at the prefect time of the day, with the light coming through the windows, creating the prefect contact of black and pink and green. 04.01.2022 This is Belinda from @theroadstall I got to met her on a recent shoot for @_floristbank_ (a new exciting initiative to create a mentoring platform educating the next generation of local florists, but more about that in future posts) Belinda is amazing.... She is operating her family flower farm of 40 years from humble beings as a road stall in Monbulk to a well recognised name in the florist industry. She is an advocate for local grown flowers, and sustainable eco-friendly floristry. She, like many other small businesses in Victoria, has learn to adapt and thrive during these 6 months of COVID lock down, where her stall in Melbourne CBD has almost lost all her daily trade During our little shoot, I got to learn about what she does. It is inspiring to hear how passionate she is for her work and for The Australian floristry industry. I cannot wait to see what Belinda does next post COVID, and here are some snaps of Belinda in Melbourne with her beanie and some flowers.

03.01.2022 More photos of the food and drinks I photographed in 2019... @ The Birdcage Flemington Racecourse

03.01.2022 Got to photographed a lot of food in 2019. And I ate them all after the shoot.
