09.01.2022 It has come to my attention that postal votes are not arriving. For residents that have not recieved a postal vote or have a medical reason to self isolate, voting can be done by phone on 1300 912 782. Please take advantage of this service.... This will give you the chance to VOTE 1 Hilary Smerdon Honest Open Dependable representation for Div 6. The next term of council will have many challenges and this region needs sincerity and experience to keep this region great and return it to its former glory. We need a back to basics approach to turn our region around. Written and authorised by H Smerdon 1706 Wide Bay Highway Woolooga for Hilary Smerdon (Candidate)

05.01.2022 Well 2020 is almost over and Christmas is here again, this year has flown, a year of highs and lows. One of the high points for me was the local government elec...tion in March where we ended up with a new Mayor and a large percentage of new councillors. I was given the honour of Deputy Mayor and in my opinion, we now have a good well balanced Council to lead this region out of the mess we are in. I think Gympie region is on the cusp of a very bright future and this needs to be well planned and administered, we now have a very good CEO who will soon appoint a new Executive. The general culture has already changed for the better in the Council workforce as staff see things improving. Personally I think Glen and Shane are doing a terrific job and I am very happy to be a part of that team. You cant please everyone all of the time and I know there are knockers out there but I know where this region would have been by now with the old Council, with an Administrator appointed. I ask the residents of Gympie Region to have faith and give this Council time to right the wrongs and turn this region around. On a personal note I would like too,on behalf of Colleen and I, wish all the residents of my Division 6 and the Gympie Region as a whole, a very Merry Christmas and hopefully a better 2021. Please enjoy your Chrissy break and lets work together in 2021 to get this region where it deserves to be. I hope one and all stay safe and well and have a wonderful Christmas.
05.01.2022 I would like to let the residents of Division 6 know that myself, Brian and Mikki all decided to stop attending the pre polling for health reasons. The main reason, concern for our constituents safety. I can still be contacted easily by phone, Facebook or email. Thank you for your support and understanding.
