22.01.2022 Even through covid we have been busy at hillbilly. We had this Amberley float that one of our customers Julia bought off us to refurbish. We have pulled all the original rotten hardwood floor out, replaced some rusty steel, coated the frame in an anti corrosive coating and replaced the floor with 17mm construction grade formply. The formply has excellent resistance to water, the elements and horse urine! We have fabricated a new tailgate for it, and replaced the side sheet steel. We will have more updates on this float in the coming weeks, just to show that we can turn a rundown float into something that will serve you for years to come.

21.01.2022 Today is storm door day in the hillbilly workshop. 3 doors on the go at the moment, one for Sara’s extreme makeover on her Kentucky, one for Julia’s Amberley and one for David’s gooseneck. We fab all of our doors in house and make the to suit the individual float.

17.01.2022 A massive week at the hillbilly workshop! Added more structural framework to Sara’s Kentucky float and started the task of sheeting it up! Once it is sheeted we will cut holes for front and side windows, set the guards up and then it will be ready for the paint department. One of our Amberley floats that we have sold to our client Julia, is copping a full makeover. Re sheeted areas, built a new tailgate, has been converted from spring to strut tailgate, replaced the floor wi...th 17mm structural form ply, and has had new pressed steel mudguards fitted. Sams coachmen has had some rust repairs and is getting new sheet steel for the front areas. Once it is re sheeted it will be getting a full repaint in a durable polyurethane 2 pack white.

16.01.2022 A bit of a transformation post for this miserable Monday! Sams coachmen had seen better days. We replaced the rusty sheet metal, cleaned up the old pinstripes and coach work along with more rust repairs and dent repairs. ... 13.01.2022 Big first half of the week at hillbilly! We have Sara’s Kentucky float In for a full makeover. First up was to strip the float down so we can raise the roof. Sara wanted some more headroom for her tall TB’s.

06.01.2022 Have you been putting off your trailer or horse float service? This float came to us for a service. Upon inspection, all of the brake shoes were worn down to metal, and had completely worn the brake drums on both sides. This along with some very worn wheel bearings made this float very unsafe. Not the ideal thing you want whilst towing around your pride and joys! We replaced the whole brake assembly, along with the wheel bearings. New fluid, all bled up and adjusted to keep ...this float sound for a few years to come! Don’t put off servicing your float/trailer. Shoot us a message or give us a call to book yours in!
