18.01.2022 Nearly finished - 'Looking for Love', my first painting for 2020 - a large piece (150 x 150cm), for a lovely collector from northern Queensland. When I was dis...cussing the birds to be included my client mentioned that she had a single sulphur crested cockatoo that visits her garden without other sulphur companions -- so the painting evolved with a number of species all in cosy pairs, with only the sulphur crested alone and looking for love. The show provides a good overview of each artist's current work and their varied approaches and interests, producing a varied exhibition of high quality artworks encompassing the genres of landscape, figurative, abstract and wildlife painting. 07.01.2022 This painting has been keeping me busy for the past few weeks. It's from a photo a took on the Curtis Falls track up at Mt. Tamborine. This is my entry for the d'Arcy Doyle art award this year and today is the last day for final touches, like putting on hanging wire and taking photos.

03.01.2022 A good way to shake the Covid blues is to sit down at the easel and concentrate on some of nature's delightful creations - this time in the form of some of our ...gorgeous wrens - Splendids and Variegated here, with a Rose robin thrown in for variety. This one is 100 x 120cms and being done for a commission. I hope it will bring the owner some happiness and tranquility at this rather fraught time. There is a bit more work to do on details yet. 02.01.2022 More is More -- that's my motto. All respect to those who ruthlessly pare down their images to the minimalist essence, but that is not my way. Nature is never... less than generous in colours, pattern, texture and movement and I feel that my work is a very pale echo of what is actually out there. This one works around a blue/salmon pink colour scheme with our beautiful Burke's parrots and white winged wrens. 80x80cms, lithographic ink, aerosol and oil on canvas. See more

02.01.2022 Just completed, Fly-by, a commission from a lovely new client from Jimboomba. Galahs are so deliciously pink, and very fashionable now with the 2019 Pantone Col...our of the year 2019 just announced - coral. For this commission I created masks and stencils of some of the plants from the client's garden, bougainvillea and brunfelsia, among others. Giclee prints on canvas will be available soon.
