25.01.2022 Thanks to Star Mail News for recognising and publishing my article, I hope you all find it informative and helpful. You can check it out in this weeks edition of the Star Mail.
24.01.2022 This week from June 14th-20 is Mens Health week. On this day 25 years ago, VFL great Ted Whitten farewelled the football world with what would be his final lap around the MCG. Ted Whitten was a pioneer for raising awareness for mens health. Why its important: More males die at every stages through the life course, more males have accidents, more males take their own lives and more males suffer from lifestyle-related health conditions than females at the same age.... The facts: Less than 1 in 5 Australian men are NOT reaching the National Australian Physical Activity Guidelines. These guidelines are purposely designed to reduce the risk of developing lifestyle diseases and improve mental health. The guidelines (ages 18-64): 150 to 300 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity or 75 to 150 minutes of vigorous intensity physical activity (or both) + Muscle strengthening exercise on at least 2 days each week. Ask yourself: Are you reaching these guidelines? Are you taking your health as seriously as you should be? If not, reach out to an exercise physiologist to get back on top of your health.
23.01.2022 Do you know any service man or woman? Exercise physiology services can be a great way to improve physical, mental and social health. Particularly, with the negative impacts that have evidently been shown on physical and mental health during covid-19 restrictions.
23.01.2022 TELEHEALTH One of our many services we offer at Hills EP is telehealth! Telehealth involves the use of telecommunication to deliver health services, research has shown that telehealth can be just as an effective method for health services as face-to-face consults ... There are many benefits to telehealth including minimizing the spread of infectious diseases, overcoming geographical barriers where distance and travel may be an issue and exercising in the comfort of your own home We understand that not one shoe fits all when it comes to exercise, thats where an exercise physiologist can develop an individually tailored progressive exercise program to reach your personal goals You may be eligible for fully funded telehealth services if you have a clinical need to do (this may require a referral from a GP or specialist) get in contact to find out more More information can be found at: http://www.hillsep.com.au/our-services-1/telehealth
23.01.2022 Half way through May, means we are half way through the MS May 50km Challenge, for those that are participating I hope youre still getting those kilometres up everyday where you can during these times! I have managed to surpass the 50km mark this week and thought itd only be fair if I set myself a new target for 100km this May. If you would like to donate funds to help MS Research Australia (non-for profit organisation) and help Kiss goodbye to MS please do so by clicking on the link below. https://www.themay50k.org//nicholasscarlett/the-may-50k-run
23.01.2022 A great initiative run by the MS Research Australia! Multiple Sclerosis is an inflammatory neuro-degenerative disease of the central nervous system and results in severe neurological deficits that can be debilitating for most living with the disease. Chances are someone you know or your friends may know have been impacted by MS. I encourage others to get involved with the May 50km Challenge as a motivating factor to improve your physical and mental wellbeing during this pandemic, whilst also raising funds and awareness to kiss goodbye to MS.

15.01.2022 We are almost there! Well done Victoria and the Hills Community whilst this time has tested our patience we are finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I truly believe after all this we will be stronger and more connected as a community. Last Sunday saw restrictions ease including Allied Health being able to return to face-to-face consults (with or without a GP referral) although we must say telehealth is primarily encouraged to reduce traveling around.... Unfortunately, group indoor sessions are not allowed at this stage. Should numbers continue to decrease with a rolling 14-day average below 5.0 we expect indoor group sessions to commence next week with a maximum of 3 people per group with strict social distancing and sanitizing measures in place to protect you. Keep an eye on our socials for updates as they come

01.01.2022 What a chilly start to winter . Well done to all those who took up the challenge for the May 50km, and special thanks to everyone who was able to donate to MS Research Australia and help them reach over $6 million to help accelerate research to prevent MS, find better treatment options and to find a cure for MS. #148km
