16.01.2022 I am privileged to have people trust me to work on there special vehicle’s, I treat them as if it’s one of my own so they are well looked after. I continually have vehicles coming in with the Wheel Alignment not set correctly or not set up for the individual customer or the roads they most travel. I am not having a go at other businesses that do this type of work, as many have time restraints on the job and can’t spend the time. If you are a perfectionist with your vehicle and you would like someone to spend the time setting it up and over time perfecting the set up come and see me or phone. Cheers John Rice

12.01.2022 Hills Brakes Cutch & Suspension is "21" Today! Back 21 years ago I was in a secure job as a manager for a Checkpoint branch (Brakes and Clutch) and my wife and I had just had our first child only a few months before. We were both worried at the time about the decision to start the business and take the risk but it's what I wanted to do my whole life and had to give it ago! I registered the business on the 1st of August 1995 and started to do a few jobs after work. Then aro...und Christmas time I took 1 months leave from my full time job to work full time at my own business. By the end of my leave I had been busy enough at my business to go back to work and give 2 weeks notice. I think that was the longest 2 weeks in my working career as I couldn't wait to get back to my own business. We started the business by sending out pamphlets in the post every few months and one time attaching business card magnets to the pamphlets. Years later many of my customers had told me they still had the magnet on the fridge, so nice to hear as in the early days my wife and I spent many hours on the advertising, designing, gluing and folding pamphlets. It has never been easy and sometimes a bit scary, I remember one week (in the early times) I had only sold only one item for $5.50 with the profit being only $1.50 and no other work that week! I didn't start the business to become well off (as that just doesn't happen in a one man mechanical business) but rather enjoy what I do and meet lots of people, my customers! A lot of my customers now have become more like friends and I am so lucky to have them! Today bought back some reality into my life... After completing a job, I was taking a test drive when a huge branch fell from a gum tree which covered the road. I only just saw it in time falling to the ground, all four wheels locked up with some sideways action. If I was going that bit faster or had left the workshop a couple of seconds earlier I would not be here to write this now and the customers car would have been destroyed. So not taking things for granted. My family, extended family and I are going out for a meal to celebrate the "21" years. A Huge thanks from me to all of my customers for all the years of support!! Cheers John Rice See more

11.01.2022 Looks like some customers are anticipating good weather soon for cruising and preparing their rides. Great idea before it gets hectic in the workshop and before you need your car yesterday! Nice cars guys
