23.01.2022 Kind words from a happy customer. The 150 series Prado are a great vehicle but lack in modern technology. This customers vehicle was brought up to date with a Toyota specific fit unit by Kenwood. The original info screen is relocated and the new stereo takes pride of place up high. I am able to retain steering wheel controls and factory reverse camera, so it is nicely integrated. A fantastic upgrade.

23.01.2022 Teaming up with the boys at Auto One Castle Hill, a VF SS commodore got the royal treatment. Hertz Cento components up the front, Cento coax in the rear doors, sound deadening treatment as well as door trim acoustical foam to prevent rattles etc. all powered from a pioneer 100x4rms amp. The bass was taken care of by a pair of kicker 12 subs which were already fitted to the car. The signal from the factory head unit was cleaned up and equalized by a JL audio Fix86, and after a bit of a tune sounded amazing. All warning chimes and indicator noises were routed to a small dash mounted speaker. A lot goes into a build like this under the surface that you never see. Check out the progress pics...

20.01.2022 Every car has its common issues. For Mazda it’s the power window motors and their average bose speakers. Here you can see the bose 9 front door woofers that fall apart. This is due to water ingress into the door cavity. You can see the rust all over the back around the spider. The other issue is the nylon teeth inside the power window motors break and cause the window to make a loud grinding noise and no movement. I commonly pull these apart and replace the cogs at a fraction of the price of a new motor.

19.01.2022 A fun and inexpensive sound system installed into this Nissan 350Z. Anyone that has owned a car with a BOSE system knows how underwhelming and artificial sounding they are. As components started to fail and the stereo sounding very poor, the owner wanted something interesting. With this one I completely stripped out the Bose setup, rewired the car to bypass the old amplifier, fitted new Apple CarPlay stereo, replaced the speakers and added very impressive bass to the system. The result was very impressive for the budget. Crisp highs, great mid bass and very low but tight bass notes that filled the cabin (and the workshop). 19.01.2022 Awesome result with this new Hilux RuggedX. Full custom sound system using JL audio sound gear, controlled by an Alpine Halo9 floating 9 tablet style head unit. The Alpine boasting Apple CarPlay, android auto and digital radio flawlessly integrated into the Toyota dash giving a huge display without looking out of place. The original steering wheel controls, USB socket and reverse camera still function as they should. All doors were treated with Stinger roadkill to eliminate... vibration and reduce road noise, as well as stinger speed wire and RCAs. JL Audio was the hero of this build, with the C3 6.5 components up front, the C2 coax in the rear, and the phenomenal 10 TW3 subwoofer in a custom made slim box behind the rear seat. All of this was powered by a JL audio RD900 5 channel amplifier which was mounted behind the rear seat. This is a beautifully balanced system with plenty of power and outstanding bass if you require it. This can be adjusted with a sub control which was mounted in the centre console. 19.01.2022 Before and after... Just because you have an old car with a single DIN stereo, doesn’t always mean you have to miss out. Sometimes you can work magic. The pockets below removed and a new Pioneer CarPlay unit fitted down low and the old hole filled with one of the old pockets. Awesome result!

04.01.2022 Had a customer wanting to fit electric seats from a 2016 model into his 2002 F250. The seats are a straight bolt in, but unfortunately the 2016 runs CANBUS electric seats using a module under the seats for memory presets etc as well as heated and cooled functions. My job was to strip out all of the CANBUS module electronics and wire the motors the old fashioned way to the switches on the side of the seat and get it all working in the old truck.
