Congratulations to all of our teams that won their grand finals this week, and a big thank-you to all our participating teams for their cooperation and flexibility throughout this crazy season!... Despite their being no spectator seating available and very empty crowds there are still big smiles all around from our teams playing the game we love. 20.01.2022 2021 WARATAH 2 YOUTH MEN HEAD COACH ANNOUNCEMENT | MITCHELL SULTANA The Hills Basketball Association is excited to announce that Mitchell Sultana will be stepping up into the role of Head Coach of the Youth Men 2 in 2021. Mitchell was the Assistant Coach in the highly successful Youth Men 1 in 2020, which saw the team make it all the way to the Finals Weekend where they just fell short in the grand final. Mitchell has also coached in the Hills Hornets Junior Representative program and has playing experience in our senior representative program. 2021 is going to be a big year for our Youth Men 2, with an influx of new players entering the age group, ready to compete and bring about a winning culture.

Reece is NSW born and bred, however has recently been coaching in Victoria, building his coaching profile with the below achievements to name a few:... * 2019 Big V Championship Women Division, State Champions (Wyndham CW Head Coach) * 2018 & 2019 National Champions (Vic Metro U18 Women Head Coach) * Basketball Victoria 2018 Coach of the Year (Male) * 2017, 2018 & 2019 FIBA Oceania Gold Medallist (Australian U17 & U15 Women Assistant Coach) The Hills Basketball Association is thrilled to have Reece on board and would like to extend a warm welcoming. Reece’s full quote: It is a thrill to be joining the Hills Hornets for the next two years. The Hills Basketball Association is a great community asset for the Hills region, providing pathways for athletes of all ages and abilities. With such large participation numbers in development programs, a strong junior representative program, great facilities and the YLM team on the back of a strong finals campaign it is an exciting time to be joining the Association! I am looking forward to working with the players, coaches, Association staff and other key stakeholders to help take the senior program to the next level. I want to ensure we provide a professionally run program that members of the Hills Basketball Association can be proud to support.
