22.01.2022 YEAR 11: Our Outdoor Education class attended a two night hike on the Bibbulmun Track ending their walk with views from the peak of Mount Dale. Students enjoyed clear skies and cool evenings as they learnt about leadership, teamwork, hiking skills and cooking on the trail. The expedition was a fantastic opportunity for the students and staff to enjoy the amazing Australian bush. Thankyou to Mr Murphy and Mrs Zuiddam for organising and facilitating the hike.
21.01.2022 FATHERS DAY FEAST: A record crowd of over 150 enjoyed our annual Fathers Day Breakfast last week. Thank you to our awesome Staff and Hospitality Students who arrived early to set up, cook and serve our families gathered to celebrate the blessing of Fathers and male role models in our community.
21.01.2022 GREAT ESCAPE: The Year 9/10 Outdoor Education class attended a two night camp at Lane Poole Reserve in Dwellingup where they were challenged by activities such as high ropes and raft building. While very wet and cold to begin with the camp was an outstanding success with many students taking full advantage of the opportunity to stretch and grow their own personal limits.
21.01.2022 HILLSIDE'S GOT TALENT: Our Primary assembly was lead by our wonderful Year 6 class. A very entertaining and creative way to wrap up our final assembly for 2020. Well done Super Sixes, you are fantastic, and you have been great leaders throughout the whole year. We are proud of you.

19.01.2022 CLOSE RACE: Riverton Leisureplex hosted our 2021 HS Swim Carnival. Congratulations to Red who took the trophy out by only a 14 point lead! Closely followed by Green. Well done to all competitors.
18.01.2022 SHOWTIME: Our annual Showcase was an excellent display of student talent last night. Creativity in Visual Art, Robotics, Design and Technology, Hospitality, Advanced Vocal Group and more. Special thanks to Mrs Pelecanos for your efforts in bringing this vision into reality.

10.01.2022 TIME TO SHINE: This special evening will include exhibition of works from visual arts, robotics, woodwork, metal work and interactive displays from Year 7-12 students. There will be a performance by the Advanced Vocal Group and light refreshments will be catered by our Hospitality students.

10.01.2022 VISUAL ART: The expression of art comes in many forms, students in Year 8 have been studying pop art and currently working on a project creating an artwork inspired by Keith Haring. Keith is a New York artist who used bold, graphic lines to create art on any surface he could find including himself! Leahs creation on Ella is called carpet.
10.01.2022 COFFEE & CONNECT: We welcome our College parents and carers to join the conversation as the book of Colossians is explored over coffee, recommencing this Friday 22nd.
09.01.2022 BLACKWOOD: Our Year 12 Outdoor Education class participated in a canoeing expedition on the Blackwood River. The expedition challenged the students mentally and physically with very early starts and in particular one 28km day on the river. The highlight of the expedition was a predawn paddle to the finishing location where students got to see the sun rise as they paddled, were visited by curious dolphins and saw various birdlife in flight.

07.01.2022 TEAM WORK: Our Year 8 Outdoor Education class took part in an overnight camp at Walyunga National Park. While the weather was predicted to be wet and wild, and the class prepared accordingly, the reality was beautiful clear skies and sunshine. The focus of the camp was teamwork and communication and the activities students took part in centred around tribe vs tribe competitions. We thank Mr Murphy and Mrs Zuiddam for organising and running another memorable adventure for our students.
06.01.2022 TEAM EFFORT: The WACSSA PS Swimming Carnival was held at HBF Stadium this week. Our team came 8th out of nine schools and our 21 students from Year 4-6 were great representatives of HillSide. Ethan So won Champion Boy for Year 6 which was an amazing achievement. Well done Ethan!

04.01.2022 10,000 AND COUNTING: Tyler (and his house) have been overwhelmed and excited to reach this tally of recycled plastic bottle lids for Lids4Kids who produce prosthetic implements for children. The collection box is at the front door of the College and we welcome your plastic lids. Thank you everyone!
03.01.2022 RUN CLUB: Primary School (Y3-6) students are invited to join the before school Run Club. Look out for the flyers coming home this week.
03.01.2022 CAREERS EXPO: Recently the Year 10 and 11 classes attended a Careers Expo at the Perth Convention Centre. While there students had an opportunity to look at various displays and chat with representatives from diverse industries about potential career pathways. After attending the Expo students enjoyed a lunch out at Elizabeth Quay before heading back to the College.
