23.01.2022 This huge Sulphur Crested Cockatoo thought he would steal some seed out of our small bird feeder. Ideally we would recommend a large size feeder for a bird of this size and leave the small feeders for the wrens and finches.

23.01.2022 We have bird feeders in stock again in all sizes - and hopefully we will make more ready for Christmas. To check them out please visit our site https://www.facebook.com/HillsideFarmContracting/shop

19.01.2022 We took advantage of the drought and low stocking levels on our own property to extend our paddocks by fencing off new areas. This proved to be something of a labour of love with our hilly and rocky terrain but we are very pleased with the result and we have happy fat ewes enjoying their new pasture. Here are some examples of our work over the last few months while still maintaining our day jobs.

14.01.2022 We are open for business - friendly and professional support for owners of small properties in the Gulgong area https://www.facebook.com/HillsideFarmContracting/

10.01.2022 We are now making and selling bird feeders. These are made from painted galvanised steel with a steel roof to keep the bird seed dry. Heavy enough not to blow around in light breeze, but still easy to handle, these seeders are available in three sizes. All feeders supplied with hanging hook. Small - seed tray 100mm x 100mm x 40mm, overall 300mm x 300mm x 300mm - $75 + GST plus freight at cost if applicable Medium - seed tray 150mm x 150mm x 40mm, overall 450mm x 450mm x 4...50mm - $95 + GST plus freight at cost if applicable Large - seed tray 200mm x 200mm x 40mm,overall 500mm x 500mm x 500mm - $120 + GST plus freight at cost if applicable. We have shown the small feeder below - this is most suitable for finches and wrens and similar small birds. The Sulphur Crested White Cockatoo was not deterred but we would recommend the large size for birds of that size. Small and medium birds like King Parrots and Apostle Birds would be fine with our medium sized feeder. Standard colour is black but we are also able to make these in other colours and sizes subject to discussion and quotation.

07.01.2022 We have been helping our clients overcome the weeds that have sprung up in the recent wet weather. Paterson's Curse might look pretty with its purple flowers, but it is not a weed that you want in your paddocks as it can be poisonous to horses and livestock unless they also eat a lot of grass. It also spreads quickly if not caught early. As it is an annual, slashing is very effective and safe and gives you ready made mulch to help improve your top soil. We are happy to come out and give you a free no obligation quote for helping clean up your paddocks. We can also spray for persistent perennial weeds if you prefer.

03.01.2022 Loading sheep onto your Ute or trailer is much easier if you can walk them up a ramp. We use ours all the time and are now custom making ramps for our clients. Our ramp is 1550mm long x 500mm made from wood on a steel frame. Each ramp has a bracket to attach it to your Ute tray or trailer. Cost is from $200 per ramp, individually made to your specifications. If you want to add sides the cost is from $300. Please contact us if you would like to discuss your requirements.

03.01.2022 The drought has left a lot of properties needing recovery time, making it more important than ever to make sure that livestock are moved early and kangaroos are... kept off our paddocks. Now is the time to look at dividing your paddocks, creating new ones or repairing or replacing your fencing. We are keen to help and more than happy to come out and provide a quotation for fencing work, at no cost or obligation on your part. Please give us a call on 0409680838 or 0476877827 or send us a message for more information and/or arrange a mutually convenient time for us to visit your property. See more
