25.01.2022 Hello HFC Family and Friends As we take stock and enjoy time with family and friends, I cannot underestimate the challenges that we have all faced this year. Our ability to play and support the game that we love was taken away from us on the eve of the season. 2020 has taught us to be resilient, to rise above the challenges, and to connect with each other in ways that we never thought we would. It has made use laugh and cry (at times they would follow each other), we felt fru...strated and angry, but more importantly we stuck together and have come out the other side. What is for certain is that 2020 is coming to an end, and we will welcome in a new year. 2021 is going to be a huge year for the Hillside Football Club, after 18months of no local football, we will be hosting the Good Friday grudge match against local rivals Taylors Lakes on April 2nd 2021. I look forward to seeing as many of our supporters on the day as possible. The junior season will once again be hectic, with multiple teams taking the field, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. We are still requiring coaches for some of our junior teams, if you are interested, please contact our Junior Vice President Lindon Way, for more information. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful sponsors for their commitment in 2020 and the upcoming year. Many have recommitted for season 2021, and we have been fortunate to welcome new sponsors for next year. Your support is very much appreciated. To our players and their families, thank you for your support in 2020, without which we would not be in the position we are in today. And finally, to the tireless committee and volunteers, you go above and beyond, and for this I and the greater HFC family would like to thank you. Lastly and more importantly, take care, enjoy the festive season, stay safe and I look forward to seeing you in 2021, watching and or playing our great game. Merry Christmas and a Safe and Prosperous 2021. See you later 2020!!! Sebastian Buccheri President HFC See more

24.01.2022 Today’s Flashback Friday takes us back to late July / August last year - a time when the number Zero was at the forefront of our mind. At the Sharks we are passionate about football, our loyal members and the role we play in our wider community - which is why we embraced (and continue to do so) the TACs Towards Zero message. We stood as one and we pledged to aim for Zero deaths and serious injuries on our roads. Thanks again to The Baillon family and our Sharks inaugural 0 ...ambassadors. So proud! See more

Here at the Sharks family matters and we love that Andrew not only sponsors his local footy team but he brings his little ones to Shark Park for a run. 21.01.2022 For today’s Flash Back Friday we remember and say thank you to our Life Members who, for in excess of 10 years, have worked tirelessly to ensure our great Club grows from strength to strength. Michael Johnstone, Cary Ferraro, Michelle Duck, Blaise Ferraro, Ray Stevens, Stephen Strachan, Andrew Dixon, Ang Mercieca, Darren Shaw & Mark Micallef - we salute you and give thanks for all you have contributed to our community. Again we give thanks to your families who have sacrificed so that we can benefit from your time and dedication. We look forward to 2021 so we can get everyone together and add our two 2019 recipients to one group photo. Go Sharks!

21.01.2022 HFCs Reserves Coach, Shaun Thompson, is once again showing us what he’s made of! Shaun is riding 200kms to raise funds and support for the Mental Health Awareness Foundation Well done Shaun ... Shaun says ‘I've created this page because I want to make a difference. I'm inspired by the work of Mental Awareness Foundation and wanted to support them by raising money. Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Mental Awareness Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

21.01.2022 From the desk of Sharks President, Sebastian Buccheri. I would like to take this opportunity to thank, outgoing President, Scott Marsden, for his tireless efforts over the past 3 years to place the club in an enviable position. I am honoured to be chosen as the President of the Hillside Football Club. We have some work ahead of us as we negotiate our way through what can only be described as strange and unprecedented times. Now more than ever we need to support each other, ...providing a level of normality that we have yearned for since March. Over the coming months, the committee will meet and plan for season 2021, this will include setting budgets, planning events, solidifying sponsors, generating ideas and appointing junior coaches, all this whilst we understand what we can do in a COVIDSafe environment. 2021 is going to be a big year, we are looking at fielding 20 teams across juniors and seniors, including two teams each of Snr Women’s, Supers and u18.5 boys. An achievement that needs to be applauded. Off field we have exciting developments to undertake, including the expansion of the clubrooms and a second ground for junior football to be announced. I look forward to working with the committee, you our members, our stakeholders, our coaches, and our players, to continue the good work and strengthen our position as not only a football club, but a community organisation. When we face difficult times, know that challenges are not sent to destroy you. They are sent to promote, increase, and strengthen you. We (committee) cannot do this alone; your support is paramount. Together we can achieve greatness. Please do not hesitate in contacting me should you wish to discuss anything at all. I look forward to seeing you all in person and enjoying a face to face chat. #Sharks2021 Sebastian Buccheri President

17.01.2022 Today we don't have to turn back the Flashback Friday clock very far. Cast your mind back to Friday 26th July 2019 - when our Senior Women took their game up a notch and took home the coveted WestWaters Hotel & Entertainment Complex Cup in a huge win over local rival Burnside. What a win - while the scoreline was fabulous, the way the ladies of Shark Park played as a team and with honour was another. A very proud night in Sharks history - one that helped the women build momentum and later play off in a Premier League Prelim final - the very first in our proud clubs history. Today we reminisce not just about a great game of football but a tremendous sponsor of our football club. The Sharks family can't wait until some level of normal returns so we can catch up and grab a tasty meal or a few drinks at Westwaters.
