Hi everyone, Please see below email that has been sent from Jason Pospishil to the young players trialling for the U/16 Showcase this week - Good Afternoon Everybody, There has been a change in the trial schedule for the U16 Showcase trials due to the number of Pitchers who are due to participate in Sydney Cup games on Sunday. Pitching outings in these Sydney Cup games will effect the ability for pitchers to complete their assessments on the Monday evening so in order to alleviate the issue and give teams the best chance to compete, we have added another trial night for Pitchers and Catchers ONLY. Please note: 1st and 2nd Choice Pitchers + 1st Choice Catchers will now be required to attend a Pitchers and catchers ONLY trial on Wednesday November 25 here at BISP (Field 1) beginning at 6pm. These players will also need to attend the original scheduled trial on Monday so they can complete their Testing, Positional Assessment and Hitting Assessment. It will be a tee-ball and beginner live pitch course for beginners and for scorers wanting to upgrade their knowledge. This course will not be for stats or more complicated scoring. I welcome your responses after viewing it. Our aim is to increase dramatically player participation (up to 3 or 4 times) the amount of At Bats and fielding opportunities a player has in the same game time that occurs in a regular teeball game.... As stated in the announcement, a further update will be provided after the 18th of January.... Thank you. To Our Members, Baseball NSW are moving in line with the Government’s recommendation to minimize all non-essential travel. As such, clubs are permitted to hold training sessions within their region (within the Greater Sydney basin), with all BNSW sanctioned events (National Showcase) and competitions (State League, Women’s League, PCBL, Metro, Minor League) being suspended until Monday the 18th of January, where a further update will be provided. Competitions within the country regions are not affected at this time. Members participating in any non-sanctioned BNSW (third-party) programs or any other baseball-related activity do so at their own risk. If they do so choose to participate in any such event then; o Members are not covered by the Baseball NSW Member insurance policy; As such, Members are not covered by any third-party general liability; o Third-party providers need to ensure that their COVID Safety Plan is up-to-date and available should it be requested by Members or NSW authorities; o That the provider should give suitable insurance coverage for their program; We will continue to monitor the Government recommendations and make changes if required. 13.01.2022 2021 National Showcase Series NSW Information Document The National Showcase Series NSW will take place in Sydney from Monday January 11 till Sunday January 17, 2021. The National Showcase Series is the replacement event for the Australian Youth Championships which has been cancelled for 2021. These events will be run in each state on behalf of Baseball Australia to replace the National Championships.... The best 40-42 players in each U16 and U18 age group will be selected and broken into 4 teams named as the following: Team Williams Team Shipley Team Oxspring Team Balfour Each team and participant will take place in the following schedule: Monday January 11 U18 Showcase Day (9am @ BISP) Tuesday January 12 U16 Showcase Day (9am @ BISP) Wednesday January 13 Game Day 1 @ Fred Caterson Reserve, Castle Hill (10am, 4pm and 7pm) Thursday January 14 Game Day 2 @ Tom Evans Field, Bonnet Bay (10am, 4pm and 7pm) Friday January 15 Game Day 3 @ Baseball Park, East Gosford (10am, 4pm and 7pm) Saturday January 16 Game Day 4 @ BISP, Rooty Hill (10am, 4pm and 7pm) Sunday January 17 Game Day 5 @ Gilchrist Oval, Campbelltown (10am, 4pm and 7pm) Squad selection will be finalised by Friday December 4. LA Blue had a convincing 16-6 win against Greater Western whilst LA Red lost a close one to Ryde but turned the result around against Cronulla. LL Red won 9-6 against a fast finishing Macarthur with Jackson ‘Big Red’ Campbell posting a grand slam HR. LL Blue lost in a close one to Ryde and went down against a strong Cronulla side this arvo.... All sides play more pool games tomorrow before the weekend finals! GO HILLS!
