25.01.2022 Thank you to all our new and existing followers. We appreciate your support and concern. We'd like to share the beautiful landscape that we live in, here the evocative misty winter mornings we are experiencing at the moment. This is the northern end of the proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm, known locally as Malonga Ridge.

25.01.2022 Good to see the Wombramurra Creek flowing strong and heading for Tamworth‘s water supply via Chaffey Dam.

25.01.2022 It’s the natural beauty of the hills of gold, Nundle, Hanging Rock & Crawney that continue to bring artists and film producers together

24.01.2022 This week Hills of Gold Wind Farm proponent Wind Energy Partners Pty Ltd will meet with members of Nundle Business Tourism and Marketing Group Inc, Hills of Gold Preservation Inc, and Community Consultative Committee. Is it box ticking in the lead up to lodging its Development Application and Environmental Impact Study or will community concerns be truly heard? We'll let you know.

24.01.2022 Good water flowing from the Crawney Range down the Wombramurra Creek through to Chaffey Dam, Tamworth’s water supply

23.01.2022 We love sharing the beauty of the Nundle/Hanging Rock landscape. We appreciate your help protecting the plants, animals, soil, and water from up to 78 industrial wind turbines by signing our petition, now close to 2300 signatures http://chng.it/JKzmfc6P Photograph by Hanging Rock resident Dee Humbles.

23.01.2022 Wow! We are 40 signatures off reaching our 2000 signatures petition milestone. If every one of our Facebook followers emails our petition link with a personal message to a friend or family member we will reach 2000 signatures before breakfast. Thank you for your incredible continuing support. Let's keep the Hills of Gold turbine free and preserve our water, biodiversity of plants and animals, soil, and heritage. http://chng.it/JKzmfc6P

23.01.2022 You may have heard that ENGIE Australia and New Zealand has gone public about its purchase of controversial proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm, just weeks after avoiding clarifying the content of media articles speculating about the sale. At August and September Hills of Gold Wind Farm Community Consultative Committee meetings a community member tabled media articles from February speculating about Hills of Gold Wind Farm’s transfer of ownership before construction. Wind Energ...y Partners Pty Ltd director Jamie Chivers, and Engie Australia and New Zealand Senior Communication Advisor, Andrew Turner, were evasive in answering whether the media articles were accurate as recently as September. Mr Turner refused a request to provide a brochure about the proposed project sent to prospective investors due to commercial confidences. At a CCC meeting last week a community member tabled Engie’s registration of Hills of Gold Wind Farm Holdings Pty Ltd with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission on 6th October, 2020. Then Engie’s purchase of Wind Energy Partners Pty Ltd and its proposed development was disclosed. President of resident and landholder action group, Hills of Gold Preservation Inc, John Krsulja, said this is not a transparent way for Engie to enter a community that is deeply divided on the proposal. Why did we have to learn about this via the February media articles and ASIC register, rather than when it was raised at a CCC meeting in August? Mr Krsulja said. Our members are disappointed that Engie was not prepared to share its investment brochure with key stakeholders when it obviously was available to others who have nothing to do with Nundle and Hanging Rock. In the past two and a half years HOGPI executive and members have had significant email correspondence with Mr Chivers' company Someva Pty Ltd which consults to WEP. Members are asking whether Engie has access to this background history of their concerns and objections. A meeting with Hills of Gold Preservation Inc members and Wind Energy Partners/Someva last week was postponed by flooding. Members have requested a meeting with Engie. 21.01.2022 Our Hills of Gold Preservation Inc president John Krsulja responds to a Clean Energy Council media release on investor confidence in renewables reported in The Northern Daily Leader: "Nundle isn't included in the New England Renewable energy Zone...because there are places in New England better suited to a wind farm than the Hills of Gold." "...there have been large-scale solar farms for our region approved, or that have been presented to little or no community opposition, because that's where renewable energies belong." https://www.northerndailyleader.com.au//rising-investmen/

20.01.2022 One of our members kindly passed on this drone footage of Nundle. We thought you'd appreciate it.

17.01.2022 Heads up, from tomorrow Wednesday December 2nd to Friday January 29th the DA/EIS for proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm will be on public exhibition. We will post the link to have your say when it is available tomorrow. From the article in today's The Northern Daily Leader: John Krsulja, president of Hills of Gold Preservation Inc, said the scheme does not have the support of the community of Nundle. He said the project would make Nundle "a power station not a tourist destination".

16.01.2022 NINE, "NOT in Nundle, ever." The Northern Daily Leader and ABC New England North West are covering Tamworth Regional Council's motion last night to make a submission outlining its concerns/objection to ENGIE's Hills of Gold Wind Farm. Developer Engie will respond to submissions, expected to be published online this week, and the NSW state government's Department of Planning, Industry and Environment will continue its assessment. Nundle wind farm: Tamworth Regional Council vot...es to veto controversial ENGIE development application with DPIE submission https://www.northerndailyleader.com.au//not-in-nundle-ev/ Madeline Link "NOT in Nundle, ever." Those were the words of councillor Glenn Inglis as Tamworth Regional Council (TRC) voted to make its 'serious concerns' about Nundle's proposed wind farm development clear to the state government. A slew of issues from traffic impacts, intrusions onto private property, a lack of information about preservation of threatened species and a low-ball offer of funds for community projects have been outlined in a damning submission to the Department of Planning, Infrastructure and Environment (DPIE). Private interests of the applicant, the commercial viability or the market weren't important to the council, Cr Inglis said "The applicant [ENGIE] repeatedly justifies a lack of meaningful important detail, a lack of scrutiny and a lack of clarity as something for later on," he said. "A big no to that because that's not the way it works." Cr Inglis said it applies for the NIMBY test [Not In My Backyard] and the NINE test [Not In Nundle, Ever]. While the nation faces climate change and energy supply challenges, Cr Mark Rodda said the proposal had no decommissioning or remediation plans. The $30 million state-significant Hills of Gold Wind Farm proposal would see 70 wind turbines installed on the outskirts of the rural community. It will ultimately be decided by the Independent Planning Commission (IPC) or Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Rob Stokes. Nundle's DAG Sheepstation owner John Krsulja and community members Brian Tomalin and Ian Worley stood before the council to make their objections clear. A neighbour of the proposed project, Mr Worley said he was glad the council relied on the "facts" or "lack of facts" in the Environmental Impact Statement. "They have not shown the respect to the community or local residents by putting together a DA that explains clearly the impacts of the development," he said. Cr Russell Webb said he's not a supporter of wind farms in general. "I don't think it's a good way to spend money and generate energy - but in this particular case my objection to this wind farm has nothing to do with that," he said. "I think this is a terrible location for any such development." The motion to make a submission against the project passed unanimously.

15.01.2022 HILLS of Gold Preservation Inc delivered its paper and online petitions opposing proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm to Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson MP today [Monday November 9, 2020]. Hills of Gold Preservation Inc executive members John Krsulja, Megan Trousdale, and Teresa Eather met Mr Anderson at his Sydney Ministerial office. The petition signed by the majority of the Nundle and Hanging Rock community demonstrates opposition to the proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm dev...elopment, now owned by Engie Australia New Zealand. The paper petition was started at Mr Anderson’s suggestion to determine community sentiment regarding the proposal. A Justice of the Peace has confirmed that the majority of Nundle and Hanging Rock residents do not support the construction of wind turbines within view or hearing of homes or workplaces. The online petition was requested by radio presenter Ben Fordham’s audience. The petitions will remain active until the proposal is determined, most likely by the Independent Planning Commission by the end of 2021. Hills of Gold Preservation Inc submitted the petitions anticipating that ENGIE Australia New Zealand/Wind Energy Partners Pty Ltd will lodge a Development Application/Environmental Impact Statement for proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm this month; also the end of the 2020 Parliamentary Sitting Calendar. Presentation of the petitions is timely coinciding with the State Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap announcement today with Deputy Premier John Barilaro stating that "the road map will make sure that renewables are developed where regional communities want them". "Hills of Gold Preservation Inc members believe there are enough largescale renewables in the pipeline for wind farms to be sensitively sited, and not all wind farms need to be approved, Mr Krsulja said. "We ask that the ecology and biodiversity of the environmentally significant ridgeline is protected, including the proposed transport corridor, project area, and transmission line route."

15.01.2022 Introducing The DAG Sheep Station, that will potentially be impacted by the proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm. The DAG Sheep Station is a wedding venue, and hosts events including Country Music Concerts and Singer Songwriter Retreats. A Preliminary Photomontage document states, "From this location up to 30 wind turbine generators associated with the Project are likely to be present in the view." To experience the creativity that emerges out of The DAG Sheep Station watch Hats ...Off to Country Online this Sunday, 12 July 2020 10:30am for The DAG’s Songwriters’ Retreat hosted by John Krsulja with tutors Felicity Urquhart, Jeremy Edwards, and Kevin Bennett and songwriters Billie-Jo Porter, Kerrie Garside, Montgomery Church, Kayla Martin (NZ), Dom Italiano, Brett Clarke, John Roza, Jason Kearney and Gretta Ziller https://www.facebook.com/HatsOffToCountry/ See more

14.01.2022 You are welcome to vote in 88.9fm Tamworth Radio's poll on whether you agree with the controversial proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm that would potentially impact residents and visitors at Nundle, Hanging Rock, Crawney Mountain, and Timor, plus people living at and travelling on on the proposed transport routes Lindsays Gap Rd, and Nundle Rd through Nemingha, Piallamore, Dungowan and Bowling Alley Point.

14.01.2022 This is the magnificent Hills of Gold we are fighting to protect from industrialisation. captured by our 16 year old local Erica. http://chng.it/JKzmfc6P

13.01.2022 Different corporate logo, same fight. Hills of Gold Preservation Inc members have requested a meeting with Engie and Hills of Gold Wind Farm Holdings Pty Ltd representatives to continue voicing their concerns about the proposal before a DA/EIS is lodged this month. https://www.nbnnews.com.au//new-developers-take-over-con/

13.01.2022 You have probably heard NSW Energy Minister Matt Kean announce that New England is the state's second Renewable Energy Zone. Importantly he stated, "The reason that we're coordinating the build of this new generation and transmission is so that we can ensure that the infrastructure is going where it's accepted." "That means not on prime agricultural land but on land where the social licence is there and the community wants this infrastructure." In stark contrast the majority of the Nundle/Hanging Rock/Crawney community oppose the proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm and the proponent Wind Energy Partners Pty Ltd does not have a social licence to prospect here. https://www.abc.net.au//new-england-renewable-en/12441674

11.01.2022 The tribe has spoken... Proponents of the controversial Nundle Wind Farm have received an overwhelming no from the public, with a strong majority of submissions into the project's DA opposing the plan. An enormous 632 ordinary people formally gave their two cents worth on the power project. Their submissions were made public this week.... Some 67 per cent told the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) they opposed it. *Taken from the Northern Daily Leader

10.01.2022 Thank you to Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson for lodging our paper petition with the NSW Parliament. We appreciate the majority of Nundle and Hanging Rock voices being heard.

09.01.2022 1400 likes warms our hearts and boosts our energy! Thank you so much for your messages of support, likes, signing our petition and shares. We love our dark skies away from the bright city lights; stars and the moon are so beautiful.

07.01.2022 There were spectacular cloud formations on the range this morning. This is the northern end of the proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm, recently revised from 78 to 70 wind turbines spanning 24km from Hanging Rock to Crawney Mountain and Timor. To understand more you can read the minutes of the Community Consultative Committee meeting from August 24th, 2020 https://796c1f1b-8d2c-4ac4-8f04-72bdcc88e7e2.filesusr.com/

06.01.2022 Here's another massive renewables project entering the assessment pipeline, Ovens Mountain Pumped Hydro Energy Storage System in the New England Renewable Energy Zone. It would cost more than $1B to build, proposes generating 600MW and providing 12 hours of energy storage. It's projects like this that mean Hills of Gold Wind Farm does not need to be approved at the cost of the environment. https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/major-projects//40911

05.01.2022 The results of the 88.9FM poll "Do you agree with the controversial Nundle Wind Turbine Farm?" answered a 70% No. Thank you to our supporters who voted. We know you love Nundle, Hanging Rock, Crawney Mountain and Timor as they are and do not want them industrialised, or the environment impacted. We will continue to speak up and highlight the potential impacts of this inappropriate proposal.

03.01.2022 Our online petition has 2014 signatures! Now we're on our way to our next goal, 2500 signatures. Here is our Hills of Gold Preservation Inc president John Krsulja at the proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm site earlier this year, marvelling at the magnificence of the Great Dividing Range location. Thank you for your continuing support, Likes, Shares, Comments, and messages.

03.01.2022 On this Save Our Koalas Day of Action, Sunday August 16th, Hills of Gold Preservation Inc members are concerned about potential tree clearing associated with the proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm near Nundle for: - transporting wind turbine components; - construction of wind turbines and associated infrastructure on the proposed project area; and - constructing a transmission line.... The proposed wind farm is a controlled action under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act. The Supplementary Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARS) lists the koala among 13 plant and animal species at risk of significant impact on the proposed site, and 24 species at risk of significant impact on the transport route. A landholder photographed this Crawney Mountain koala near the south western section of the proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm last summer. Please sign our petition to stop potential habitat loss associated with the proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm http://chng.it/JKzmfc6P #SaveOurKoalas #nswpol #KoalasNeedForests #StopExtinction #GladysBerejiklian #MattKeanmp #RobStokesmp #KevinAndersonmp #NewSouthWales #LoveNSW #visitnsw #NundleNSW #TamworthNSW #Australia #tourismaustralia

02.01.2022 Thank you Richard O'Neill, Worrigee NSW for your Letter to the Editor of The Northern Daily Leader (pic from one of our Timor members, who would overlook the southern end of the wind farm proposal): Hills of gold "I saw on Credlin, Sky news tonight, the government's decision to allow the building of Wind Farms at Nundle, I have emailed the above group, to register my support for their fight to stop this debacle, my family and I have visited this beautiful region, it would be catastrophic to allow this to happen."

01.01.2022 Hills of Gold Preservation Inc supports Tamworth Regional Council's draft submission regarding ENGIE's Hills of Gold Wind Farm. We thank council for expressing comments and reasons for its concerns/objection questioning whether the site is appropriate for such a large scale renewable development. We agree with comments that the proponent has understated and overlooked important engineering detail of expansive works required, which in turn impact hydrology, the environment, a...nd visual amenity. The increased construction traffic noise and general activity will impact the existing character of Nundle and Hanging Rock. We support Council’s call for greater understanding of impacts to threatened species in Ben Halls Gap Nature Reserve and Crawney Pass National Park. We agree there should be no further clearing permitted in the development footprint until the Hills of Gold Wind Farm has been determined. We believe the heritage significance of Black Snake Gold Mine should continue to be protected by the Tamworth LEP. Add your support for Council's submission here https://www.northerndailyleader.com.au//wind-farm-dealt-/
