20.01.2022 HSSO is proud to announce a sponsor for our upcoming Planets competition: Cadenza Apparel! Cadenza Apparel takes the hassle out of shopping for concert blacks. It was founded by a mum of a cellist, who struggled finding plain black, comfortable, easy care clothes for her daughter's orchestra performances. You'll find girls, womens and boys clothes, plus some music merchandise! One random participant in our competition will receive a free Bach Off tote bag (pictured below)!... For more products or information please visit: https://www.cadenzaapparel.com.au

04.01.2022 Due to the continuing social distancing restrictions in place, the decision has unfortunately been made to postpone our Pathetique concert in December. Alex Norton will be returning to perform the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with HSSO in 2021, when audiences are allowed to safely return in a larger capacity. In its place, we are finally able to bring some good news. HSSO will be presenting a chamber concert on December 9, live-streamed here on Facebook. More details to come, stay tuned!

02.01.2022 HSSO returns to making live music in 2021! We are beyond excited to be performing for you once again. We welcome back young cello superstar Lianah Jaensch to perform Elgar's incredible Cello Concerto, after it was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19. We open our concert with Rossini's Overture to "The Thieving Magpie", a delightfully light and playful introduction from the master of comic opera. The second half of our concert features Sibelius' First Symphony, an emotional jou...rney from one of the last great champions of the Romantic symphony. In-person tickets will be on sale shortly and will be strictly limited by the current Government regulations on venue capacity. We are live-streaming this concert for a reduced price and this will also be available shortly.
