08.01.2022 HSO UPDATE: We would first like to say thank you to all that joined us for our Invitation to Dance concert on the 14th March. At the beginning of an uncertain time for all, our HSO community still supported us and we thank you so much.... With the ongoing development of COVID-19, our committee unanimously decided to postpone our next concert as well as cancel rehearsals from the 20th March until further notice. Since this decision was made, further restrictions to public gatherings have been applied which we respect and understand. The health and well being of our members, and our community, is our top priority. During this time, we encourage and hope that our members continue playing within their own homes. Let it be a comfort during this strange time. For those that attend our concerts, we hope you too find comfort in music. We look forward to the future when we can once again come together to make music, as well as share that music with you. Stay safe, HSO.

06.01.2022 Members of the 2nd violin section had a purely social catch up Monday evening via Zoom, organised by 2nd's leader Stuart. 05.01.2022 Our 'Orchestral Revival' this sunday will be a Covid safe concert. As a community orchestra, one of our values is just that - community! We value our wonderful HSO community so whilst we are very excited to make music, public health and safety is our number one priority at this stage.... As well as having limited tickets to comply with venue restrictions, to help stop the spread we are asking everyone who has purchased a ticket to follow a few simple steps to stay safe on Sunday: PHYSICAL DISTANCING. Please maintain 1.5 metres of distance between yourself and others. In musical terms we would call this staccato, meaning detached! Patience and respect may be required when queuing for the front door or the bathrooms. Rest assured that we will not start the show until everyone is seated and comfortable so there is no need to crowd or rush. Take it adagio (slowly). STAY AT HOME IF YOU FEEL UNWELL. If you are feeling unwell please DO NOT ATTEND. Simply contact is for a FULL REFUND. GOOD HYGIENE. We simply recommend that you continue to follow the good hygiene practices that have become second nature over the past months. Wash or sanitise your hands (hand sanitiser will be provided), cover your cough, and avoid touching your eyes/nose/mouth. You may choose to wear a face mask and/or gloves for added protection and peace of mind. COVIDSAFE APP. The Australian Government is recommending that everyone with a smartphone download the CovidSafe app to assist with contact tracing. Rest assured we also have a full list of contacts in the unlikely event of an emergency. With these simple steps and changes, we can ensure that our performance is as safe as possible. Together (or tutti in musical terms) we can stop the spread. We can't wait to play some beautiful music for you on Sunday! Reminder This concert is SOLD OUT. There will be NO door sales.
