18.01.2022 A memorial service to celebrate the life of Linda Caterson was held at Kellyville Anglican Church on Thursday (October 22). Mrs Caterson passed away at the age of 99 on the Gold Coast on October 13 but the Hills was where her community involvement evolved for over 40 years. #lindacaterson
16.01.2022 The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, the charity partner for Australia’s National Parks, has awarded a Bushfire Recovery grant to Hawkesbury Community Nursery. In partnership with the global non-profit organisation One Tree Planted and French beauty brand L’OCCITANE. The grant is the first stage in the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife’s mission to plant one million trees over the next five years to help replace trees that were lost in the 2019/2020 bushfires. 15.01.2022 TRAGIC NEWS: A man has died after becoming trapped between a Ute and a truck in North Kellyville. About 10.15am (Sunday 24 January 2021) emergency services were called to Ramornie Drive, following reports a man was trapped between two vehicles.... NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated the 40-year-old man but he died at the scene. Officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command attended have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. The man is yet to be formally identified. The truck driver has been taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing. Inquiries are continuing. A report will be prepared for the coroner.

14.01.2022 Another 10 schools were evacuated this morning, disrupting the HSC Biology exams following email threats. Police were contacted and the schools enacted their emergency response plans, which included evacuations, causing significant disruptions to students and staff members. Local officers, assisted by specialist police, conducted extensive searches at each of the schools, and no items of interest have been located.... Yesterday 20 schools were evacuated including Crestwood High School, Riverstone High, Castle Hill High, Baulkham Hills and Colo High. Detectives from the Cybercrime Squad have established Strike Force Rolum to investigate the circumstances and origins of the emails. Police are working with the Department of Education to ensure the safety of all school communities and appropriate notifications and information is provided to parents and students of affected schools.

11.01.2022 MISSING: Nico Sandaga, aged 21, left his home at Marsden Park at about 3pm yesterday (Wednesday November 25) telling family he was going to The Ponds. When he failed to return home last night, he was reported missing to Quakers Hill Police. About 4pm today (November 26), officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended a hotel in Campbell Street, Sydney in the hope of locating Nico; unfortunately, he had already left. More than 24 hours have passed, and Nico has not bee...n sighted, and police inquiries so far have been unable to locate him. 11.01.2022 MISSING TEENS: Police are seeking public assistance to locate a missing brother and sister from Riverstone. Hayleigh Smith, 16 and her brother Luke Smith, 15, were last seen in Riverstone by a family member, about 10.40pm on Thursday (October 22). Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command commenced an investigation into their whereabouts. Attempts to contact the pair have been unsuccessful, and while they have been sighted by other family members since being reported as ...missing, police and family still hold concerns for their welfare due to their age. Hayleigh is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 140cm and 145cm tall, thin build, fair complexion and blonde hair. Luke is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 170cm and 175cm tall, thin build, fair complexion, with short brown hair. The pair is known to frequent the Dean Park area. 06.01.2022 HEAD ON CRASH A 35-year-old man is in a critical condition following a head on collision at the intersection of Commercial Road and Boundary Road Vineyard. He sustained fractures to his leg, injuries to his abdomen and suspected spinal injuries. CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly before 11:40am and landed 15 minutes later in a property adjacent to the incident where NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment. Working wi...th emergency services personnel from the State Emergency Service who were extricating the patient, CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the man, including an ultrasound to assess his injuries, while he was still in the vehicle. Taking spinal precautions with the patient, CareFlight’s clinical team continued providing care as the man was taken by road with NSW Ambulance in a critical condition to Westmead Hospital. 06.01.2022 DRUG CHARGES: A Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) associate will appear in court today (Friday November 27) charged over the alleged supply of cocaine and ‘ice’ following an investigation into an alleged criminal network. The 25-year-old North Richmond man has been charged with four counts of supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity) and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime. Police will allege in court that the man was involved in the supply of ...cocaine and methylamphetamine (ice) between November 2019 and February this year. Detectives from the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor established Strike Force Pavasovic to investigate the activities of criminal networks, including the supply of prohibited drugs, across Sydney. So far during the investigation, police have charged four men, including three former Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) members. On Tuesday, February 11, detectives executed a search warrant at a home at North Richmond, where mobile phones, electronic storage devices and $3450 cash were seized. As part of ongoing inquiries, a 25-year-old man was arrested at the North Richmond home on Friday, October 2. Investigations under Strike Force Pavasovic continue. Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 and conducts proactive investigations and intelligence-based, high-impact policing operations to prevent and disrupt conflicts, and dismantle any network engaged in serious organised criminal activity.
