25.01.2022 Well the Cathedral is all set up for tonight’s kickoff for 3 big days walking with Christ from the Last Supper to his death and then Resurrection! Tonight we be...gin at 7pm with the Mass of the Lords Supper where we recall the institution of the Eucharist and Priesthood. At the end of Mass, in procession we will take the Eucharist to its place of repose where we will keep watch and recall the night before he died. Then we will strip the Sanctuary bare to remind us of the emptiness of Good Friday as we recall the Lords Passion and Death. I hope you can join us as we begin these very special days. +Columba

23.01.2022 Mass for Ash Wednesday and 2021 opening school Mass for St Joseph's Parish School, including induction of 2021 student leaders this Wednesday, 17 February, at 9.15 am. Covid safety restrictions to be followed including signing in, hand sanitising and social distancing. As we need to adhere to the 1 person per 2 square metres rule inside the church, additional seating outside will be provided if needed. The parish now has a NSW Government Covid QR code to register attendance.

16.01.2022 DIOCESE OF WILCANNIA-FORBES LAUNCHES NEW RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM Friends, Last Thursday was a historical day for the Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes as we lau...nched and decreed our new Religious Education Programme Educating in Christ which has been developed for our Schools in Wilcannia-Forbes. Education in Christ is a Religious Education Program based using a Liturgical spiral by which students participate in learning experiences that are aligned to the liturgical seasons of the Church. Its methodology is based upon the work of Maria Montessori and Sofia Cavalletti. Its primary goal is to bring each student into a closer intimacy with Jesus Christ through the Scriptures, Traditions and Catechism of the Catholic Church. This Religious Education program will ensure that our students are taught the richness of our Catholic faith with a hands on approach that makes Religious Education fun and exciting that ensures our students will grow to love Jesus Christ the Word made Flesh and his Church on earth. Some of the Characteristics of the program are, Mystagogy Typology Scripture as an Unfolding Mystery Moral Formation Sacraments I would like to thank the Mission and Religious Education team of the Diocese for their ongoing work with our new program. In a special way I thank all the Priests, Principals, Teachers and Families of our schools for their continual support and encouragement of this groundbreaking program in the Diocese. May Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Patroness of Wilcannia-Forbes and Mother of all our Schools guide our students' hearts to love Jesus Christ, the Word made Flesh. +Columba
