22.01.2022 A HOME GROUND FIT FOR THE MIGHTY HILLSTON SWANS Hillston’s Stan Peters Oval will undergo an almost $200,000 facelift, thanks to the State Government’s Str...onger Country Communities Fund. I was impressed to hear what Carrathool Shire Council plans with the $197,231 when visiting recently in my role as Minister for Western NSW. Many teams play on Stan Peters Oval, but it’s the Hillston Swans who will be the main beneficiaries of a new electronic scoreboard, goal posts and spectator seating, as well as upgrades to the oval boundary fencing. Sport is the lifeblood of our country communities, so I know these upgrades will benefit the town for years to come. Well done to Carrathool Shire Council and up the red and white! 22.01.2022 Hillston Swans have had recent grant success in the 2020/2021 Carrathool Shire Community Grants Scheme. Our project is "Hillston Swans; First Aid and Safety for the Community" The funding enables us to install a first aid cabinet with kit in the Pavilion at the Stan Peters Oval for the Community to use, and, to purchase 2 sports first aid kits for our AFL and Netball teams.... Thankyou to Carrathool Shire Council for supporting our project.

19.01.2022 COVID 19 Update Community matches Based on the current advice from the Government in relation to group gatherings, football matches and Auskick centres with limited crowds (500 or less) can proceed until further notice the recommendation is that match attendance is limited to players, families, and key match officials... General hygiene Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds If soap and water are not available, use an alcoholbased hand sanitiser Wash or sanitise your hands before eating Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth Avoid close contact with people who are sick Stay home and seek medical treatment when you are sick Cover your mouth to cough or sneeze Football hygiene COVID-19 or not, communal use of water bottles should be avoided at all times. The competition goes for 6 weeks, is played on a wednesday or a thursday night against teams from Leeton, Griffith and Narrandera. Girl's are allowed to be 17 but not turning 18 this year (2021). Well done to our Swans teams who played in the finals and a big cheers to the under 13's netball team and the Senior Men's AFL team.
