Here's one of the recipes from our cookery competition sponsored by The Land. **Gluten Free Orange Ricotta Pound Cake Recipe** I...ngredients 160gm butter 1 cups sugar 375gm fresh or packaged ricotta cheese (drained well - see note) 3 large eggs Grated zest of 1 orange 2 tablespoons orange juice 1 teaspoon vanilla essence teaspoon almond essence 1 cups plain gluten free flour 2 level teaspoons gluten free baking powder Method Preheat Oven to 160C. Prepare a loaf tin (not a bar tin). Sift together the dry ingredients, set aside. Cream together butter, sugar and ricotta cheese until light and creamy. Add eggs, one at a time. Add orange zest, orange juice and essences. Beat until combined. Add dry ingredients a little at a time beating until just incorporated. Spoon mixture into prepared tin, smooth top. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until cooked. Depending on the density of the ricotta used, this may take 1 hours to fully cook. Cool in tin for ten minutes, before turning out to finish cooling on a covered rack. Note: one of our members saw good results after she drained 375g of full fat ricotta from a 500ml Perfect Italiano brand plastic tub, for about 2 hours. Another member suggest using a ricotta that comes in a basket and is already drained such as "La Casa Del Formaggio Traditional Ricotta Cheese". 16.01.2022 Members Carole and Ita delivered some "Rona" Scrubs to Spotlight Griffith a week or so ago. Carole had sewn 6 sets in some lovely colours. Should be some more to come from the Branch soon. Great work girls!

14.01.2022 The CWA of NSW has run the Tea Room at the Royal Easter Show for more than 70 years, raising on average in recent years $150,000 from the sale of about 50,000 scones, tea, coffee and products made by members. However, when the decision was made to cancel the show earlier last month as part of control measures around Coronavirus, the organisation started to think of some ways to help bridge the funding gap and came up with the ‘virtual scone’.

13.01.2022 Today we received this message from ACWW : This year, recognising the challenges and risks in walking in our communities globally, and the financial insecurity caused by the current Pandemic, ACWW has taken the decision to postpone Women Walk the World with the aim of celebrating it for 2020 on 15 October, coinciding with the International Day of Rural Women.

07.01.2022 We held our last Market Day of the Year in November. We are hoping to restart them in March! Thanks to all the stall-holders and "shoppers" who supported us this year.
