25.01.2022 What a great day was had by all today. Georgia : gave a flawless beginners lesson and worked on her anxiety while tying up. Hermione : worked on confidence with new things in preparation for her soon new home.... Bluewren : worked on confidence under saddle. I love what I do! Extra pics of Bluewren and Hermione in comments.

25.01.2022 Got to help a little girls dream of meeting a unicorn come true. Miss Bluewren was a star!

24.01.2022 Had a lovely day with Georgia and Hermione today. Hermione was a little cautious about the float loading, so who decided to come help??? Miss Georgia! No halter needed! And the best thing about this story is that Georgia cand be a little nervy in the float. So her being comfortable enough to load without being asked is very exciting!

24.01.2022 So I've had a busy late last week and weekend and the horses have had a few days off due to updating some fences. However today I've gotten back into it. Dimples attempted some of my obstacles and completed them all without hesitation. Bluewren got ridden out a bit and we wandered around the property on a loose rein. Some of the new fencing was a little scary but she's a brave girl and got over it fairly quickly. ... Enjoy these pics of Bluewren from her previous owner. Wasn't she a cutie?!?!?

23.01.2022 Bluewren and I had an absolutely awesome day at Kerri Matthews EA NCAS Coaching x-country training day yesterday. She was a lot keener and willing than even I expected and certainly gave it a red hot go! Very proud of her giving it her all! Her style and scope are great for such a little horse! Also got a pic with a big Gypsy cob/Shire that did the rounds with us!

23.01.2022 The beginning.... I was that child who never "grew out of" her beloved horses. I went through pony club from 12 or 13 on my beloved welsh/arabian mare Ziva, and was a beginner child on a green 3yo. While I don't recommend it, we worked. We rode the 37km to pony club and back, mustered and droved cattle through difficult terrain, carried orphan lambs across the saddle, and competed in any and every event I could ride to. In 2016 I fell in love with a little bay mare from depot... horses in transit and her buckskin filly. So I purchased her and had her trucked up to Young from Echuca. Thus was the beginning of my training journey. Since then I've bought and aquired a variety of misfits. Always turning into brilliant little horses. In 2017 I applied for and got into Tocal Agricultural College's "Stock Horse Breeding and Training Program." I worked very hard and despite having an extra 4 weeks off managed to graduate with Dux despite very worthy competition. In their annual sale the little mare I trained throughout the year sold for one of the record breaking prices of $17,000. I am proud to say that her training has stuck and I'm in touch with current owners where she is a much loved member of their herd. In 2018 I put my beloved mare Ziva down due to a crazy paddock accident. My now husband also proposed and horses were predominantly turned out for the next 2 years to be horses. 2020. That brings us to now. It's time for the 6 young horses I have to begin their journey. I hope to be able to turn them into fun, trustworthy reliable mounts that will always be treasured by forever homes thus allowing me to continue finding these diamonds in the rough. I hope you enjoy this page, and following these guys transformation. I am grateful to God for blessing me with the opportunity to work with horses and horse loving people and hope to bless others throughout my journey.

23.01.2022 Well folks! Georgia has SOLD! And I honestly couldn't have hoped for a better home! I've shed a few tears, but if today was any indication of Georgia's and Rachels future relationship they are going to exceed! Can't wait to see you all on Friday! Pics of George and her new little girl to love!

22.01.2022 Happy Easter all! It's a very special time for a lot of us as we remember "The Lamb of God" sacrificing himself on the cross for our sins. And celebrating how he rose again, on Easter Sunday! I hope you enjoy this post! I've been working with a different kind of 4-legged friend over the last couple of weeks. I'm now up to 22 little lambs being bottle fed. And to celebrate easter and brighten peoples weekend a lovely local groomer Elle Paradisis from Two left paws grooming decided to wash and colour a few of them! So enjoy these pics and rest assured that they thoroughly enjoyed the pampering and will have a lovely warm place to sleep tonight!

21.01.2022 This little chocolate coloured lady had her first ride outside of the roundyard today. Reaching all milestones super quickly and taking everything in her stride! Hermione will be a superstar! Will have some ridden pics tomorrow!

17.01.2022 My helper Bryn, leading Bluewren for me. Good to have such patient quiet ponies around!

16.01.2022 Today consisted of morning cuddles with the sisters before work began. Neither had any issue with being sat on and snuggled with or with the silly doggos saying hello. Such lovely girls!

16.01.2022 Introducing the girl who started me off with rescues. Meet, Dimples! This lovely lady is 9/10yo and around 12.3hh/13hh. She was worse than simply wild when she arrived, as she'd had bad experiences with humans. She arrived with Esme at foot and unbeknownst to us, Hermione in her belly!... She has always been very protective of her babies and in recent weeks has somewhat transferred that to me . It's only been over the last 2 weeks that she's decided I'm someone she wants to know. She now follows me up and down the fence nickering gently to me. Pats are now a thing she enjoys and standing near me and being caught isn't super scary. I don't know if Dimples will ever be available as a riding horse but she has shown a very gentle interest in little people so time will tell. In the coming weeks/months I'm focusing on just build her faith in humanity. She will not be pushed or rushed at all. This ladies journey will be slow but fulfilling. I think this girl will be the one to have taught me the most thus far. Enjoy some pics, recent and old. Even some with Esme and Hermione as bubs!

16.01.2022 Hermione had another great ride on Friday. Building confidence out and about and over a couple of obstacles. She also had her first couple of canters outside of the roundyard. What a little superstar! Plus she's incredibly cute with the lambs!

15.01.2022 Georgia. The name of one of the sweetest, most willing horses I've had the pleasure of working with. This week we have conquered with out issue: Riding down a busy road alone Walking over the wooden bridge Riding with the big plastic flag... Having the stock whip cracked off her Dragging a bag full of cans Playing under the tarp Rounding up lambs bareback Trail riding on her own Saying hello to very loud motorbikes She has learned it all so willingly and happily. And will make someone very happy one day! (If I can bare to part with her!)

15.01.2022 Another great ride today. Nice and laid back during flatwork. At one point she asked me if we could keep cantering so I dropped the reins and let her go. How pleased I was when she just continued slowly cantering laps in the open paddock rather than rushing home or over to friends. Then she stood patiently while I fiddled around in the shed before unbridling her. She didn't move an inch!

14.01.2022 Meet.... Avlon Bluewren! Miss Bluewren came to me after the owners grandchildren lost interest. She was very loved but also very very skittish and spooky. She was meant to be nearly broken in but personally I couldn't see it.... Wrenny is a registered welsh section A pony, approximately 11.3hh and 7/8yo. Since being broken in last year she has come along in leaps and bounds. We've done a lot of desensitizing with her and tried to expose her to different things. We've taken her trail riding and around a x-country course. She's been used as a lead rein on occasion and is warming up to little people splendidly. Her spook has deteriorated massively, and I can now flop all over her without her making a fuss. When on board she's not lazy, but certainly not too forward moving. Just fairly willing. In the coming weeks I'll continue to expose her to new things and prepare her for a child rider.

13.01.2022 I had a great ride on Bluewren and Esme yesterday. You'll have to pardon the photo and video quality (video in comments) but please enjoy! They are both progressing well!

13.01.2022 The horses have been turned out for a bit. However we have still been busy! Spraying, plowing and soon to be sowing to get more hay for next year and improving the property in general. Georgia has been brought back into work as well and is shining. Will give an update post tomorrow!

13.01.2022 Introducing Pippi a.k.a AAHRI Pippi, Miss Pippi went through the Young horse sales back in 2018. Along with 7 other young horses all from a deceased estate. After a kind donation from a supporter, the Australian Arabian Horse Rehomeing Inc were able to purchase all 8. That left the question of where to take them. I volunteered my facilities and really was their only hope. They all arrived off the truck banged up, wild, and completely unhandled. I spent a few days handling s...ome of them and others were trucked to experienced homes unhandled. That left miss Pippi who AAHRI kindly gifted to me. She was one of the flightiest and most untrusting of the 8. However, she also proved to be very clever. Once she worked out that I wasn't the biggest, meanest, bad guy out there she has progressed very quickly. She can now be caught in open spaces and is curious and always wanting to know what you are doing. Due to her condition when she arrived, she was handled a little then turned out to be a horse. She's come back in a little underweight but happier than ever. She is now approximately a 3/4yo and stands around 13hh. In the coming weeks she will be fed up to regain weight, handled more, and begin the breaking process at her own pace. This girl will be one of the biggest transformations yet so be sure to keep tabs on her! Pictured from off the truck and now.

12.01.2022 Getting back into working with these 2 lovely horses. Black and white Big and small Dark and light... But thankfully both very good sweet animals!

12.01.2022 We don't simply train horses to do as they're told here at HES. We like to form relationships based on trust with our horses. Georgia is a perfect example of this. When she arrived she was very spooky, and could be hard to catch. Check out this video of Georgia going for a walk with me and the lambs today. Her confidence has just gone ahead in leaps and bounds. She's such a sweet lil arab!

12.01.2022 Did some flatwork on Georgia yesterday, what a clever clever girl she is! She is going to be a ripper of a horse, more so than she is now!

11.01.2022 I've been in the recovery paddock myself recently, after getting surgery to have my appendix out. So simply having the occasional hang out with the horses. Here is miss Mouna, my mums purebred arabian mare. Due any day now, and absolutely revelling in my scratching those places that are hard to reach when heavily pregnant!

09.01.2022 Thought I'd take Georgia for a solo walk today as we haven't done anything for a couple of weeks due to the wet weather and my spraining my wrist. I simply asked if she'd like to go in the dam and I got a big fat YES! Safe to say water isn't an issue for Georgia even in winter lol. Enjoy this video! (2nd vid of me getting splashed in comments)

09.01.2022 I had the pleasure of delivering this gorgeous pure arabian filly last night. She's a bay with 4 socks and a blaze and hopefully won't grey out! Very relieved to have her safely on the ground with mumma doing well.

09.01.2022 With all this wet weather we've been having here in Young and surrounds, it's been hard to get much horse time in. However, that isn't stopping Bluewren and Esme from being little super stars! Working on: Trail riding Livestock desensitization Opening gates... Working in water (surprise surprise!) Leaving friends Working around loose horses Today Esme also helped me with a lamb who had his head caught in a tree guard. Not worrying in the slightest as it kicked up a fuss!

08.01.2022 Progress update! Bluewren and Esme are coming along brilliantly! They've both been introduced to a new intermediate rider and taken it all in their stride. Esme still being very forward and Bluewren maintaining her willingness. The little superstar of the day has been by far miss Hermione. She had her first ride with a saddle and bridle on, it's been a long long time and she ridden was absolutely brilliant. (Less than 10 rides in total!) She was soft in the bridle and willing from the leg. Definitely an exciting prospect!

07.01.2022 Between hay, puppies, and end of year assignments, it's been very busy in my part of the world. Glad to say the horses are back in and loving the work! I've got the full squad, Black Beauty, Merrylegs, and Ginger. (Aka Maximus, Bluewren, and Pippi!) Excuse the mud!

07.01.2022 Who thinks Hermione and Esme are good models??? I bought some new (2nd hand) rugs for the ponies. However, 2 are not true to size and are too small! SO! Does anyone have ponies that are between 4'3 and 4'6? They are labeled at 4'6 but both small. Weatherbeeta brand, hood and rug combos. One hood has a tear. $45 for it and $50 for the other or $85 for both. Beautiful quality and clean bar my trying it on Esme and Hermione. SOLD

07.01.2022 Georgia is having a couple of weeks off due to rolling into a fence. Only superficial, but will have a little rest. In the mean time she is being a sort of lead pony for me. She gave Hermione massive confidence today during her first ride back. Gently following us up the driveway and helping Hermione work out what the trot was by slowly trotting in front of us. All loose. Such a good little girl! Hermione remembers steering, stopping and going but lacks confidence. She's been brought back in due to a keen enquiry.

06.01.2022 Maximus has had his first 2 rides this week. He has walked and trotted under saddle calmly and one rein stopped. All simply in a halter. What a legend he is being! I have taken a lot of time to make sure he is comfortable with the saddle, as well as me being on board and it has certainly paid off. When I got on yesterday we had the most beautiful let down of yawns seen in the 2nd pic!

05.01.2022 On Monday I had another sad yet joyful farewell. Miss Hermione headed off to her new home where she will be loved and adored by these 2 little girls and their baby sister once she's bigger. Can't wait to see all the mischief they get up to! Enjoy these grins!

05.01.2022 Meet.... Hermione! This young lady arrived inside her mother back in 2016. She is at least half sister to Esme with both their sires being unknown. She is rising 4yo and approximately 11.3hh.... She is a character! Very like her sister Esme in her level of curiosity. She enjoys being around people and I have high hopes for her. She was started last year and came a long well, picking things up very very quickly. She has only just been brought back in, so it will be exciting how she progresses in the coming weeks. While she may not be the good looker of Esme or Bluewren, this young lady has lovely conformation, loads of potential and will hopefully become someone's best friend soon! Hermione will be here for a good few weeks yet while we finish her brief breaking in process and begin introducing her to the world. Like her sister she tends to take things in her stride and follow her handlers lead. She has had one outing to the vets simply as a companion for another horse and she handled the new environment and different horses and noises like an oldtimer. Thanks to the fact I've known her since the beginning, enjoy some recent as well as some cute baby pictures!

03.01.2022 Elle from Two Left Paws Grooming & Mobile Pet Care came and gave me a hand turning this chestnut roan into a beautiful white princess pony! Enjoy the before and after!

03.01.2022 Introducing...... Miss Georgia! I purchased this lovely lady along with a friend back in 2016 when their owner ran into circumstances that meant she had to find homes for them both very quickly. She was then known as "Mum" due to having a foal with that owner. I picked her up from a paddock that had flooded up to her pasterns and we nearly didn't make it home due to the rain. (What is that now days?!?)... We decided to rename her Georgia. She is approx 14hh and 9/10yo. Georgia is a spunky little Arab x with a loyal heart. One of those gems who knows exactly who is riding her, and how to adjust herself to better suit - when carrying children you can clearly see her gentleness with them - even allowing my 3 year old niece to lead her around ...being ever so careful with every step. In the hands of a more experienced rider Georgie can sometimes push the boundaries....but only in little startles at new things or suggesting returning home. Georgia is the kind of horse that when chased through a fence just stands and waits for you to help her. She came to us flighty and nervy but within a matter of weeks of consistent handling she has quickly turned into a trusting pony, able to be left in the paddock for months without work and be jumped on bareback (rather miraculously!) For a quick afternoon ride without killing a single person What we're expecting is to continue her groundwork and handling using natural horsemanship methods. Working on her flatwork and exposure to new things. Overall, she's a beautifully rounded pony (I mean look at that belly!) And we're hoping she turns out quite nice for riding too Watch this space!

02.01.2022 Some more gorgeous pics of unicorn Bluewren!

02.01.2022 Esme arrived at her new home on Sunday afternoon. And it's safe to say that her new little rider is absolutely smitten with her! Thankyou to her new owners for providing her with such a great home, and for providing me with lots of pics and updates!

01.01.2022 Introducing.... Miss Esme! This young lady came as a foal at foot of my first rescue. Right from the beginning she was curious and entertaining. As soon as she was around bigger horses she wanted to be a part of it. Being very satisfied with having the saddle cloth put on her back when she was still just a baby.... She was broken in a year ago and was very straightforward and easygoing. Picking everything up very quickly and just plain willing to please. She has participated in giving pony rides and is very interested in children. She stands at approximately 11.3hh and is 4/5yo. Esme has a very friendly and quirky personality. Trying every thing in my small stockmans challenge course right off the bat. Introducing her to the jumps threw her confidence a fair bit, so that'll be a good area to work on with her. She needs to be tied securely otherwise she will undo the knot, pick up her lead, and take herself for a walk! She loves water, having a good splash and rolling in the dams. She walked straight onto a float the moment I first asked her and would probably climb into your car if offered! She's been ridden bareback in a halter and is one of the most enjoyable ponies to have around on the property. I was planning to keep her for my 2 and 3yr old nieces, but plans have since changed, meaning this bundle of fun will be up for sale when she's ready! She has come back into work very forward, yet very soft in the bridle. Her leg yielding for her amount of rides is truly amazing. In the coming weeks I'll be working on her relaxation and confidence. Esme has got a long way to go, but is making very impressive progress! A competent child will certainly have a blast with this girl. Lookout! Enjoy her fuzzy baby pictures as well as more recent ones too!
