18.01.2022 Respite care is a great way to ‘test’ a new home, before making a commitment to permanent care. With an average stay of between two and six weeks, most respite care residents choose to stay with us after respite care, once they have experienced first hand the exceptional level of care, lifestyle, food, accommodation, and of course friendship that is HillView! Here, Ellis and his daughter Tracy discuss their decision to choose HillView Care for respite. https://www.hillviewcare.com.au/time-for-respite/

14.01.2022 1st October marks International Day of Older Persons, a very significant day for our HillView family! Our beautiful Residents have been spoilt with a concert, followed by a delicious lunch of Grilled Scotch fillet with Dianne Sauce served with sweet potato chips and vegetables, and Resident favourite, a King Prawn Salad. In addition, the children of All Saints Anglican School and Merrimac State School have written personalised letters to our Residents to acknowledge this spec...ial day, whilst Burleigh Community Kindergarten have created an amazing hand painted canvas, accompanied by a poem. Big thanks go to Tracy Bass, daughter of Resident Ellis for organising the pre-schoolers in record time, generously donating such a gift to our Residents, and to Lyn Barker of All Saints School for coordinating the letter writing activity on the last day of term! The artwork is doing a roving exhibition throughout both homes, ensuring every single Resident can enjoy the work, but you can enjoy it right here! https://www.hillviewcare.com.au/international-day-of-older/ #allsaintsanglicanschool #burleighcommunitykindergarten #merrimacstateschool #internationaldayofolderpersons

06.01.2022 Remember those who fought and fell amidst the sound of mortar shell. Their time on earth... a living hell. The sacrifice they made. On battlefields in foreign lands they paid the price that war demands. As life slipped through their trembling hands for those back home they prayed. A minutes silence once a year. We bow our heads. We shed a tear. Still not enough - that debt, I fear, will never be repaid.

06.01.2022 Our new giant game of KerPlunk requires some degree of hand-eye coordination to avoid the wooden balls falling through the hole. Ironically, despite being onomatopoeic, our version doesn't 'kerplunk' - we've softened the sound with towels!
