17.01.2022 Aussie, Aussie, Aussie... Kindergarten have been studying Australia and Australian animals. They were lucky enough to have an 'Australiana Day' at school. Students dressed up in a variety of Australian costumes, made animals from clay, got to participate in a live zoom to the Australian Reptile Park, showed off their bush dance moves and ate delicious Aussie food. 14.01.2022 Eat Well To Learn Well Breakfast Club is on every morning and all students are welcome to come and have a healthy breakfast from 8:15am until 8:55am. Toast and yoghurt with or without fruit are available most days with a cooked breakfast on Wednesdays. ... There's always a friendly face to greet the students as they come in and a healthy breakfast is a great way to have a positive start to a productive day. Most mornings we have between 50 to 80 students attend. Many staff members help on different days they and they include Mr Fitz (Col ), Cheryl, Miss Russ, Miss Fisher, Rosie and Tracey. 09.01.2022 Marvellous Mathematicians Year 1 have been busy getting their brains sweaty! They have been learning the concept of make, mark, move using informal units such as a hand span to measure length. Our clever students know that they need to use units of the same size and mark before moving on to their next measurement. 05.01.2022 Little History Buffs Year 1 were lucky enough to have our SLSO Mrs Fisher bring in some very old items to assist us in understanding the past. Mrs Fisher recorded her gramophone playing some records and showed us some very old items such as baby dresses, a tea container and old money. The students have been learning about money in mathematics and knew that the $1 note was changed to a coin because it wasn't very durable. We also saw a sheet music holder that was over one hund...red years old and looked at some baby pictures of Mrs Fisher. We were so lucky to see these old memories from the past. 03.01.2022 Design , Edit, Prepare and Print 3D printing is part of 3/6G and Year 4 technology lessons this term. Students have been logging into their Google Classroom accounts to link off onto tinkercad to design name tags and Christmas ornaments. Tinkercad is free online design software which works nicely with our flashforge printer and software. We have been learning about what they look like, where they live, what they eat, and other interesting facts about snakes. We held a colouring in competition, where the students had to colour in a picture of a snake using different colours and patterns. We have not finished these yet but they are looking amazing! 01.01.2022 Kickball, also known as Soccer Baseball is a game similar to baseball. One team tries to score by having the player run around the field to the home base, whilst the fielding team attempts to pass the ball to each base to get the runner out. There is a catch! Players are only able to use their soccer skills, passing the ball with their feet! An extremely tricky skill!!... Year 5 have been perfecting their soccer skills through this fun and exciting game!
